Have you ever noticed that some things and circumstances grow old when they are the same over and over and never change? I am one of those people who likes and thrives on each day being different from the next. It’s why I didn’t last long at a desk job from 9 to 5. UGH! If you are one of those people I commend you for it, but it’s just not me. And it’s probably why my skating career lasted so long…..every single day, even every hour was different and I loved that.
WALKING CLOSELY WITH GOD NEVER GETS OLD.
Yes, we as humans plan our days or so we think we do. But with GOD, HIS plans are always better and often a surprise to us. I love that HE purposefully plans all our days with HIS love and capable HANDS. We just need to know that when we surrender, HIS journey becomes ours and HE will take the reins of our lives and guide each of our days. I often wonder each morning, how the day will turn out. Sometimes there are unexpected blessings and surprises.
Our environment is different every day with a different sunrise and sunset. No two are alike. This alone should help us to know this:
OUR GOD IS ABUNDANT WHEN IT COMES TO HIS VARIED GRACES.
Life lived with GOD near is never boring, never a waste and never futile. Our GOD gives each of our lives abundant gifts to enjoy and many to be thankful for.
PSALM 16: 11 “YOU MAKE KNOWN TO ME THE PATH OF LIFE; YOU WILL FILL ME WITH JOY IN YOUR PRESENCE WITH ETERNAL PLEASURES AT YOUR RIGHT HAND.”
I would like to think that GOD releases pleasures now and even more in the future eternity, because HE wants us to find delight in HIM, and HIM alone. HIS good pleasures now are never boring, nor do they get old. It’s never the same old, same old with HIM. Have you noticed?
ISAIAH 58:14 “THEN THE LORD WILL BE YOUR DELIGHT. I WILL GIVE YOU GREAT HONOR AND SATISFY YOU WITH THE INHERITANCE I PROMISED TO YOUR ANCESTOR JACOB.”
When we walk in the delight of the LORD, nothing in our journey will ever get old or boring because HE gives us the desires of our heart, along with many other blessings and surprises. HE works all of this in a special way for each of us and it is HIS mystery that we just surrender and abide with HIM……then watch the way our path each day goes. It may be filled with joy, or heartache, but it will never be boring. HE teaches us, guides us and fulfills us…..we just need to let HIM lead us gently into HIS grace. So try this:
HEAD INTO EACH DAY WITH ANTICIPATION AND DELIGHT IN YOUR HEART AND SOUL.
Then pay attention to your day and see where GOD took you. I promise……. with HIM, it’s always a delight, always special and never boring!
