SOMETIMES LIFE changes in a moment and then there are days where it feels like the same old, same old. Routines do that to us. Being stuck in a rut can be so…….blah.
When life hits this way, we cry out to the LORD saying: “what are YOU doing, where are YOU, should I be doing something more?” It’s a feeling that life isn’t changing or changing too slow and the present circumstances you are in remain as they are, in spite of all your prayers. There is a feeling of being stuck. So what do we do to get our smile back?
GENESIS 29: 35 “THIS TIME I WILL PRAISE THE LORD.”
What we do or don’t do doesn’t win us favor with the LORD. No, it’s when we seek HIM and praise HIM in our everyday moments. We can choose one way or another whom we decide to praise and worship. Let’s choose JESUS today……praise HIM in the mundane, the ordinary, the uneventful, the unchanging. Because even when nothing seems to change, we can still change our heart posture.
HEBREWS 10: 22 “LET US DRAW NEAR WITH A TRUE HEART IN FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH…….”
GOD wants us to learn something in the unchanging circumstances and it is this:
WHEN WE THINK NOTHING IS MOVING…….OUR GOD IS!
We may not see the subtle changes especially when walking through hardship and heartbreak. But GOD sees us and slowly but surely changes us from the inside out. No matter how deep the pain, HIS hand is gentle and loving and rescuing. One day we will walk out the other side of the unchanging…….and we will be changed somehow! And because GOD wastes nothing, HE allows this time in our lives, so we will draw near and praise HIM………more!
I have been walking through a quiet, unchanging painful time. I feel like GOD is crushing me because there is a weight on my soul I have never experienced before. Honestly, all I have left in me believe it or not, is praise. I can get those words of praise out when I cannot get out the painful ones. And so I praise HIM, because HE is good and just and faithful and true! Praise HIM with me?
PSALM 147: 1 “PRAISE THE LORD! FOR IT IS GOOD TO SING PRAISES TO OUR GOD; FOR IT IS PLEASANT AND A SONG OF PRAISE IS FITTING.”
Songs of praise are good and fitting………are you singing yours today? Are you singing in spite of your circumstances? Just sing one song and feel your spirit lift because GOD wants our hearts completely and wholly.
When I cannot find the words, I do have my hallelujah because a praise to the LORD is always fitting, even when we think nothing is working or changing. GOD is always working. HE works for us, for our good and to remake us into HIS holy children……..that I know is happening, even when I see nothing happening. What a wonder that is! What a wonder HE is……..always working and always moving on our behalf for our good.
So praise HIM today. Feel your spirit lift and while you are at it, notice that big smile on your face!
PSALM 135: 3 “PRAISE THE LORD, FOR THE LORD IS GOOD; SING PRAISE TO HIS NAME, FOR THAT IS PLEASANT.”
