If you think about it, most of us don’t hand over ourselves to anyone here. And why? Mostly because we guard our hearts from being hurt. There is a fear there and a trust issue. But there is only ONE who we can fully trust with all our being and it is the ONE who went before us and died for us on the Cross.
We tend to put up walls to protect ourselves and say, no we won’t ever let that happen again to us. And our hearts gets hardened along the way, because people are broken and don’t know where to put that brokenness. So they lock it away and then no one can get near.
HURT PEOPLE……..HURT PEOPLE
All of these walls are do to fear. But at the same time, there is only ONE who will, if you surrender all of yourself to HIM, tear down every single wall you have! And why? Because GOD wants us to live authentically in HIS love.
PROVERBS 29: 25 “THE FEAR OF MAN LAYS A SNARE, BUT WHOEVER TRUSTS IN THE LORD IS SAFE.”
Whoever trusts…….in the LORD……..is safe. Who and where is your safe place today? Are you choosing the world or the LORD? You might think it is your family or a friend, but because we are all broken, sooner or later that family member or friend will fail you. Our human love for one another is not perfect, but GOD’S love for us is!
1 JOHN 4: 18 “THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE, BUT PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR.”
Only JESUS died and suffered and understands our plight. In the Garden, HE gave us an example of WHO to run to. Even JESUS on HIS darkest night, ran to HIS FATHER in the Garden. HE knew where HIS safe place was. And we have a safe place too.
MATTHEW 11: 28 “COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”
Are you weary and burdened today? Have you put up walls to protect yourself? Do you need that safe place where no one will hurt your heart? Then run into the arms of JESUS, the only ONE who can give you relief.
We can safely and confidently come before HIM and lay all our troubles and hurt down. And why? Because HE tells us to.
MATTHEW 11: 29 “TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN FROM ME, FOR I AM GENTLE AND HUMBLE IN HEART, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”
Take the time today to come before the only safe place you will ever have or know. COME to JESUS today and hand over your whole self. Because HE is your safe place to go to for now and for all of eternity!
COLOSSIANS 3: 10 “AND HAVE PUT ON THE NEW SELF, WHICH IS BEING RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE AFTER THE IMAGE OF ITS CREATOR.”
PSALM 78: 53 “HE GUIDED THEM SAFELY, SO THEY WERE UNAFRAID.”
I really needed the reminder today that there is a safe place in Jesus when everything feels heavy. Life has a way of building walls in us, but His love is the only thing that can gently bring them down without harming the heart.
God Bless You, today and always Dear Maxine, and remember that ….
You Are Loved…

So glad the words HE gives us to put on a page can be a comfort to someone! As always, yes, when life feels heavy, look up Willie. As Adam reminds us, stay vertical! And YOU are LOVED by me and GOD today!

Sometimes it’s a scary thing to jump off that cliff and trust in Jesus. He tells us He is our safety net, but we can’t SEE it, so we too often fall back on the “safe” places we have learned in life. But too often they hurt, and they can’t lead us to true safety and peace.
Jesus speaks truth. Even if it’s hard, He will bless our turning to Him. Proverbs 3.5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
