Today is Sunday……..GOOD LORD’S DAY! Sundays are easy to remember GOD and to worship HIM. But what about the rest of the week? We often have those days or times where we lose sight of our GOD. We must turn and re-remember HIM.
WHY ARE WE A PEOPLE WHO FORGET?
We are a sinful people and ever since the Garden and the fall of humanity, we are a people who forget. We are easily distracted by the world and outside influences. Let’s remind ourselves today of this:
PSALM 77: 11 “I WILL REMEMBER THE DEEDS OF THE LORD; YES, I WILL REMEMBER YOUR WONDERS OF OLD.”
It’s a hard thing to remain steadfast when your world is falling apart. And we all have those seasons where you want to take the off ramp of your life!
PHILIPPIANS 1: 6 “AND I AM SURE OF THIS, THAT HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL BRING IT TO COMPLETION AT THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST.”
We might take that off ramp of life, but GOD has a way of drawing us near HIM when we cry out to HIM. Because we are chosen and loved, GOD really is our biggest “fan”. And because HE is a faithful GOD, we are in a race towards the KINGDOM HE has waiting for us and HE desires that we finish well.
DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF HIS WORD FOR YOU.
Read something every day, even if it is for a few minutes. Let HIS word pour into your soul, especially when you are hurting. When you don’t lose sight of HIM, then you stay on and in the race, no matter how difficult.
1 CORINTHIANS 9: 24-25 “RUN IN SUCH A WAY AS TO GET THE PRIZE. EVERYONE WHO COMPETES IN THE GAMES GOES INTO STRICT TRAINING. THEY DO IT TO GET A CROWN THAT WILL NOT LAST, BUT WE DO IT TO GET A CROWN THAT WILL LAST FOREVER.”
Anyone who has run a race keeps their focus on the finish line. Let’s keep our gaze fixed on the ONE who saved us and gave HIS life for us. JESUS never lost sight of where HE was ultimately going when HE walked this earth. If we keep our sights on JESUS, then we can tolerate anything here and put up with life along the way……so today……
KEEP YOUR SIGHTS UPON YOUR SAVIOR AND YOU WILL FINISH THE RACE WELL!
2 TIMOTHY 4: 7 “I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH.”
