MY VIEW IN PROVERBS

GOD’S WISDOM ABOUNDS!

I am currently in a study in the Book of Proverbs. I have read in Proverbs often but never have done a study in it. Believe me, it has opened my eyes to all the wisdom and correction and comfort found there.

PROVERBS ARE PRINCIPLES NOT PROMISES

Proverbs give us such a wise design of how GOD wants us to live. We would be foolish to not turn to them when we need direction in our lives.

PROVERBS 9:10 “THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM, AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY ONE IS UNDERSTANDING.”

Proverbs very simply just shows one the differences between following Lady Wisdom and choosing to follow Lady Folly. The principles listed are so very simple to follow and easy to understand.

When you get wisdom, she will watch over you and direct your path. Wisdom cries out to us along the path of life and so we should listen to her and heed all her warnings. They will keep us safe and protected from sin. Wisdom brings happiness and safety to those who embrace her.

PROVERBS 3:3 “LET NOT STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS FORSAKE YOU; BIND THEM AROUND YOUR NECK; WRITE THEM ON THE TABLET OF YOUR HEART.”

In other words, keep this wisdom close to your heart, live by it each day and remember it fondly and deeply. We can find worldly wisdom in all kinds of self-help books, but nothing can compare with Bible Wisdom. Search for it and abide in it.

Lady Folly on the other hand is loud and full of flattery, prideful and deceitful too. Choosing folly leads you down the wrong path, a path of sin.

PROVERBS 18: 7 “A FOOL’S MOUTH IS HIS DESTRUCTION, AND HIS LIPS ARE THE SNARE OF HIS SOUL.”

Proverbs can be quite clear on what we choose to do or say or how we live. We can live lives blessed and full or we can choose the path of destruction.

But the most interesting thing I learned is to now imagine JESUS saying these things to you. WOW! That really gave me a new respect for all of Proverbs and I will never look at them in the same way again. Now my eyes have been opened to the treasure that they are. I have in the past read a proverb a day since there are 31, it works to read through one section and then you have read all through the book in a month.

If you have not paid attention to the treasure of this book, I encourage you to do so. You might be surprised at GOD’S word there for you. Because wisdom is more precious than jewels and more profitable than silver. And you will find that it is relevant and convicting too, all designed for how we are to walk in this sinful world keeping our paths straight walking in GOD’S ways.

Pick up this rich book today and see how much it applies to your life. You will be amazed and your eyes will be opened. Let the Book of Proverbs write daily upon your heart!

PROVERBS 28: 5 “EVIL MEN DO NOT UNDERSTAND JUSTICE, BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD UNDERSTAND ALL.”
