GOD really is the only ONE who can save us from ourselves. We might think we can save or do all the right things, check off all the boxes, make religion our priority, but only JESUS saves…….period.
JESUS CAME AND DIED TO SAVE THE WHOLE WORLD
Now our minds know this, but how often do we try and try again to be perfect and good? Nothing we do will ever change what JESUS did! Because HIS grace alone is saving and HE alone leads us in the way everlasting…….
PSALM 139: 23-24 “SEARCH ME, O GOD, AND KNOW MY HEART! TRY ME AND KNOW MY THOUGHTS! AND SEE IF THERE BE ANY GRIEVOUS WAY IN ME, AND LEAD ME IN THE WAY EVERLASTING.”
Only GOD can save you……..from you! Only GOD knows you from the hairs on your head to the tips of your toes. HE knows you better than you know yourself. So why try to hide from HIM?
PSALM 139: 4 “EVEN BEFORE A WORD IS ON MY TONGUE, BEHOLD, O LORD, YOU KNOW IT ALTOGETHER.”
GOD knows it all………GOD does it all……..the saving, the forgiving, the convicting and the restoring. Thank GOD HE does this! Because as the sin-filled humans that we are, we are terrible at this!
ROMANS 3: 10 “AS IT IS WRITTEN: THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE;” NKJV
The NASB says it this way: “AS IT IS WRITTEN; THERE IS NO RIGHTEOUS PERSON, NOT EVEN ONE;”
And so when we realize we cannot save ourselves…….ever………then something shifts inside our hearts and our minds. All we desire above all else is JESUS and HIS saving grace. HE becomes our Shepherd to us, because we know more than anything that we are just as lost as sheep in a herd. When HE saves us, all we see is the power of the CROSS and our sins are put right into context. We are not worthy of anything…….
BUT HE ALONE IS WORTHY
Because HE alone is worthy, HE has become the propitiation for all our sins.
1 JOHN 2: 2 “HE IS THE PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS, AND NOT OURS ONLY BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD.”
HE ALONE IS WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE TODAY
And HE alone is worthy of all our faith and thanks. So face it, we have a saving, loving GOD who wants us to be with HIM in all of eternity. Accept this wonderful gift of grace from a GOD who sent HIS SON to atone for all of our sins because HE loves us, even more than we love ourselves!
