When pain hits us hard we tend to wonder: where are you LORD? But I am learning something interesting, that in that dept of pain GOD is right there beside me with HIS faithful love and comfort for me. Nothing else will satisfy and relief is not found from this world, no……. relief from the pain is found in GOD HIMSELF!
PSALM 89: 8 “O LORD OF HOSTS, WHO IS MIGHTY AS YOU ARE, O LORD, WITH OUR FAITHFULNESS ALL AROUND YOU.”
GOD never moves away from us, we only seem to think that, especially in the midst of pain or grief. HE is there, with comfort and guidance. We need only to look at HIM, instead of the problem. But that is hard too. Our minds keep trying to solve what we are dealing with. It’s part of our nature…….if there is a problem, we try to solve it.
WHAT IF WE TRULY LET GO AND TURN TOWARDS THANKFULNESS?
I am thanking GOD each day now, just for waking me! And then I make every effort to write down as much as I can think of that I am thankful for. It’s funny how when I focus on that, instead of my pain and problems, then my mood lifts. HE meets me right in the middle of my heartache and says: rejoice instead!
1 THESSALONIANS 5: 16-18 “REJOICE ALWAYS, PRAY CONTINUALLY, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; FOR THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS.“
So giving thanks in all things, means all things!
Oh how I wish I could learn this…….the freedom of it is a wonderful thing! Our GOD in the middle of it…….is a wonderful thing. Turning my pain into worship and thankfulness……. that is a wonderful thing! There is a purpose in all of it, the good and the bad. And if we keep our focus upon HIM in the midst of all the pain we are in, HIS purpose will eventually be revealed. GOD is faithful then, in giving us the perseverance to continue on and HE helps us prevail. And in the prevailing, you find strength to move forward.
GOD SENDS HIS SPIRIT UPON US TO HELP US ENDURE.
That is how HE meets us in the middle of all our problems, hurt and pain. We are not alone……ever. We just need to turn immediately and look for HIS hand there. HE reaches out for us, extending HIS hand of grace and mercy……we just need to take it.
Our circumstances change us, but our GOD never changes. HE is right there beside us, faithfully with HIS everlasting love and grace. Let’s thank HIM today for this and hold on tightly to the ONE who will never let us go!
