I live in a sweet neighborhood where everyone who passes by in a car waves, or people out in their front yard speak to you. When I walk I have a usual route to take my pup Emma, but today as I walked along I decided to walk on the opposite side of the street. I saw new and pretty decorated doors I had missed before and even spoke with a few new people. One wanted to tell me all about his doodle grand dog.

OUR PERSPECTIVE CHANGES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET.

I have to wonder if I get myself into a rut, always doing the same thing over and over and thinking the same thing over and over. Your world becomes small in my opinion. When you walk with GOD, however, that perspective can change. HIS bigness just shows you how incredible our world is. When we walk on the side of the street with GOD we walk up amazing paths that go up and down and the views can be spectacular. You learn that HE is in control, and HE takes you up mountains and then down into valleys. You know very quickly that HIS perspective is righteous, pure and will never steer you wrong.

PSALMS 36: 6 “YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IS LIKE THE MOUNTAINS OF GOD; YOUR JUDGEMENTS ARE LIKE THE GREAT DEEP; MAN AND BEAST YOU SAVE, O LORD.”

Because GOD is always changing us, rebuilding us, remaking us and redeeming us, our perspective and the way we live then is very different from the world. We see our lives through HIS lens and not our own.

I love it when I am looking to see what GOD says about a subject and come away with a changed mind and thinking “I never thought of it that way!”

ROMANS 12: 2 “DO NOT CONFORM TO THE PATTERN OF THIS WORLD, BUT BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND.”

The only way we can see GOD’S perspective and understand HIS heart is to get into HIS wisdom daily. HE will renew your outlook and give you fresh ideas and insight. And isn’t that what we all want? Because we need to number our days…….with HIM. Not live them for ourselves but for the glory of HIS kingdom. And when we are fresh and renewed, someone just might ask us what is our reason for living?

PSALM 16: 11 “YOU MAKE KNOWN TO ME THE PATH OF LIFE; YOU WILL FILL ME WITH JOY IN YOUR PRESENCE WITH ETERNAL PLEASURES AT YOUR RIGHT HAND.”

I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait to see what walking on the other side of the streets of gold in Heaven will be like! But until then, I plan on walking on the other side of the street whenever I can to be aware of HIS presence and to see more through GOD’S lens than my own. Take a walk today friend…….enjoy the other side of the street! I know I will!
