IT’S NOT ABOUT OUR WEAKNESSES – IT’S ABOUT GOD’S STRENGTH.

There is nothing like being weak either physically or in mind or spirit to bring us to a place of needing to stand upon GOD’S strength for us.  I recently started on a new drug due to my breast cancer and the oncologist told me well, you will feel ok the first week, not so much the second week.  Well, I already don’t feel well!  Ugh.  So I go to the LORD more frequently crying out: LORD I NEED YOUR STRENGTH!  I am quickly realizing this isn’t going to be an easy thing, it is an hourly thing.  But in my weakness, I see GOD even more and I see and even feel HIS strength that I need to borrow over and over again.

WE CAN AND WILL NEVER OUTRUN GOD’S ABSOLUTE ABILITY TO SUSTAIN US.

I am so very thankful that GOD does this for us……..otherwise how would we function from day to day especially through the hard stuff?  

2 CORINTHIANS 12:  10  “FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST, THEN, I AM CONTENT WITH WEAKNESSES, INSULTS, HARDSHIPS, PERSECUTIONS, AND CALAMITIES.  FOR WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STRONG.”

When we are weak, let’s trust HIS strength!  Let’s stay vertical, placing all our focus on HIS strength, not our weakness.  

And so I tell myself, it’s ok to feel weak, it’s ok to be even broken……..because we are forgiven and held and loved especially when we need it the most.  GOD is there.  GOD sustains us in all our weaknesses and makes treasures out of broken people.  HE is our strength and that should bring us comfort.

If you think about it, how can GOD ever get into us unless we are weak and broken?  We are fallen human beings, GOD knows this and HE is perfect and all-sustaining.

PSALM 55:  22   “CAST YOUR BURDEN ON THE LORD, AND HE WILL SUSTAIN YOU; HE WILL NEVER PERMIT THE RIGHTEOUS TO BE MOVED.”

Are you currently physically weak?  Then run to your STRENGTH, YOUR SAVIOR.  Is your heart weak and overburdened?  GOD holds your heart in HIS capable STRONG hands.  Are you struggling with all of life’s problems from day to day?  Run to the ONE who sustains each day.

PSALM 73:  26   “MY FLESH AND MY HEART FAIL; BUT GOD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART AND MY PORTION FOREVER.”

Whatever season we are in……..hard or full of blessings,  GOD’S strength never changes…….ever.

Turn today to the strength of your GOD, for strength of heart, soul and mind.  And HE will sustain you, guide you and comfort you through your weaknesses. 

PSALM 28:  8   “THE LORD IS THE STRENGTH OF HIS PEOPLE; HE IS THE SAVING REFUGE OF HIS ANOINTED.”

  1. There is a certain peace in humbling ourselves, and curling up in the palm of His hand, letting Him heal and guard us.

    We must, though, work ourselves into that humble position. Too often I want to power through in my own strength – “I can do this!” God really does want to help and guide us.

  4. My Dear Sister Maxine, my heart hurts reading what you are walking through. Your faith in the middle of this weakness shines so beautifully, even through the pain, what powerful Faith…I’m praying the Lord wraps you in His peace and comfort, but even more than that, I’m praying for His healing to touch your body in a real and powerful way. You are not alone. He is with you in every moment, every hour, every breath and remember that You Are Loved….

    Heavenly Father,

    I lift up my Dear sister Maxine to You. Please surround her with Your strength when hers feels gone. Bring healing to her body, comfort to her heart, and peace to her mind. Let Your presence steady her and Your love carry her through every hard moment. Restore her, Lord, and be her strength today and every day.

    In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen 🙌
