I think it is interesting that we all can listen to the same sermon and come away with very different thoughts and perceptions.  Why is that?

Our maturity levels and where we are on our spiritual walks are all different with some people more mature than others.  Some see GOD as kind and loving, others see HIM as a harsh judge.  We all have grown up differently and either in a Christian home or maybe no Christian influence at all.  Some came to faith early in life, others later.  

PSALM 95:  7   “TODAY, IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS…….”

Some Christians are in a season of thankfulness and are submitting to GOD’S leading above all.  Others are questioning everything they know due to life circumstances.  And still others are walking through grief, sadness and even illness.  

Wherever we are currently in life, we all are different because GOD made us that way.  And because of this, it makes sense that HE tailors HIS message to each of us in a very unique way.  That is why some hear HIM saying one thing, while another person hears something very different even though both have listened to the very same sermon, sitting in the same room alongside one another.

Understanding of GOD helps us understand what HE says to each of us.  Knowing HIS promises and what HE thinks of us plays a huge part in how we perceive HIM.

LUKE 24:  45   “THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.”

Our eyes being opened and our hearts joyfully receiving HIS word helps us in hearing GOD more clearly.  If there is something in the way hindering us from hearing HIS still small voice, let’s come before HIM and examine that too.

Often, life gets busy, plain and simple.  You have to claw and grab for that time spent with HIM.  Other times you feel like you can sit for hours in HIS presence.  We must be intentional to not let the world crowd out GOD!!  So today ask yourself if it has been a while since you have heard from HIM.

IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD HIS VOICE IN A WHILE, THEN WHO MOVED?

Because GOD is always there by our sides, waiting for us to come to him and HE speaks to us in spirit and truth.

HEBREWS 10:  22   “…….LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD WITH A SINCERE HEART AND WITH THE FULL ASSURANCE THAT FAITH BRINGS, HAVING OUR HEARTS SPRINKLED TO CLEANSE US FROM A GUILTY CONSCIENCE AND HAVING OUR BODIES WASHED WITH PURE WATER.”

Today make every effort to draw near, to listen and to be still.  Spend time with the LORD and let HIS word wash over you.  Then you will hear more clearly what HE says to you, in HIS unique way because of who you are:  HIS child.

PSALM 73:  28   “BUT FOR ME IT IS GOOD TO BE NEAR GOD; I HAVE MADE THE LORD GOD MY REFUGE, THAT I MAY TELL OF ALL YOUR WORKS.”
