HE TOOK BREAD AND BROKE……

We are all familiar with the amazing miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.   JESUS in HIS infinite mercy broke bread and fed the masses!

I was reading this account this morning and one sentence jumped out at me about HIS breaking of the bread that he blessed and broke and gave…….

MATTHEW 14: 19  “HE BLESSED AND BROKE AND GAVE THE LOAVES TO THE DISCIPLES AND THE DISCIPLES GAVE TO THE MULTITUDES.”

So HE blessed………HE broke……..and HE gave.  Oh how HE does this with us daily!  Taking that sentence deeper doesn’t JESUS bless each of us with exactly what we need at the right time?  HE is the ultimate provider for each of us and HIS timing in our lives is profound!

The next two words in that sentence:  and broke……..is what jumped out at me.

JESUS BREAKS US……..ALL SO HE CAN REMAKE US IN HIS IMAGE.

My husband and I are going through a health crisis right now.  GOD continues to break me, watching my husband suffer.   And I trust that GOD knows what HE is doing and will remake me and my husband through this illness that is ultimately terminal.

HE BLESSES……..HE BREAKS……..AND HE GIVES!

HE blesses us all with HIS eternal salvation…….that is HIS gift to us that we don’t even deserve.

PSALM 35: 9  “THEN MY SOUL WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD AND DELIGHT IN HIS SALVATION.”

Our lives and our bodies may be broken……..but we have salvation worth more than our lives because it is eternally secure!

Then…….finally……..HE gives!  In all the breaking and blessing HE gives us endless grace and love!   The LORD gives and gives and HE gave HIS life for you and for me…….remind yourself of that today if you happen to break bread!

MATTHEW 14:  20-21  ” THEY ALL ATE AND WERE SATISFIED, AND THE DISCIPLES PICKED UP TWELVE BASKETFULS OF BROKEN PIECES THAT WERE LEFT OVER.  THE NUMBER OF THOSE WHO ATE WAS ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND MEN, BESIDES WOMEN AND CHILDREN.”

    1. We are all, at one time or another, like the bread Jesus fed with…broken. But by God’s Grace & Mercy we can be made whole if we’ll allow Him to work in our lives. Two words…ONLY GOD. ONLY GOD can take a broken piece of clay & mold it into something beautiful. We are the clay & God is The Potter. ONLY GOD can take us thru the storms of our lives & cause the SON to shine on us again. ONLY GOD loved us enough to give His Only Son for our salvation, healing & peace that passes all understanding. ONLY GOD can do ALL things. No one can love us more. ONLY GOD. Praying for your strength & endurance, my dear dear friend. Praying for your husband in all ways. Love you so much🥰

  2. Maxine, I am sorry to hear of your husband’s health situation. I am glad for you, though, that the Lord is walking you through this trial and good is coming out of it in your life. Thank you for sharing these encouraging words.
