I am slowly coming to believe that if in our lives, we were never shattered – what then? The healing process is painful and deep, continuous and then somehow…….glorious! I don’t know if any of us would invite pain upon ourselves, to be broken and betrayed……but JESUS did! HE broke HIS body for you and for me. I am seeing in my life that the breaking is for the remaking and JESUS is giving me grace for this. What if our brokenness and our shattering is really all about making us new? GOD knows what HE started in us…….
ISAIAH 64:8 “YET YOU, LORD, ARE OUR FATHER. WE ARE THE CLAY, YOU ARE THE POTTER; WE ARE ALL THE WORK OF YOUR HAND.”
How often have we run after the shallow pleasures of this world only to find ourselves broken and disappointed? Shallow pleasures never satisfy, maybe for a while, but eventually you reach the end of yourself. Then what do you run after?
GOD has a way of shattering everything you thought you knew. Then in the midst of this we cry out: LORD save me! HE hears us and then starts the process of remaking and redeeming us. Feeling this pain is the first step towards GOD and HIS grace and HIS healing.
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 10 “BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD I AM WHAT I AM, AND HIS GRACE TO ME WAS NOT WITHOUT EFFECT.”
JESUS knew obedience by the grace of the Father and went obediently to the Cross for all of our sins. Shouldn’t we have a reverent submission to our suffering as well? Our pain and suffering here is not to hurt us……..it’s to save us!
2 CORINTHIANS 4: 17 “FOR OUR LIGHT AND MOMENTARY TROUBLES ARE ACHIEVING FOR US AN ETERNAL GLORY THAT FAR OUTWEIGHS THEM ALL.”
Even in our suffering let’s trust GOD and know this is all so temporary. Shallow really in the eyes of the world, but all so deep and eternal in the eyes of the LORD. It’s all worth it for the glory that is to come! Stay vertical my friends! JESUS is coming back soon!
