Life is made up of moments, hours, days and years. Life is made up of good and bad and everything in-between. There is joy and there is tragedy. There is strength and there is weakness. There is life and there is death. And in all of these moments, we may feel strong or incredibly weak. So, are you at war with your weakness?
The world has told us a big lie. That something is wrong with you if you are weak or in a state of weakness. And the lie that is broken is when JESUS says: “when you are weak, then I am strong” in you! In the LORD’S economy, weakness is a good thing……it causes us to plead for strength, strength that comes from the ONE who is all-powerful. Our weakness draws us near to the ONE who is pure and holy strength.
2 CORINTHIANS 12: 10 “THAT IS WHY, FOR CHRIST’S SAKE, I DELIGHT IN WEAKNESSES IN INSULTS, IN HARDSHIPS, IN PERSECUTIONS, IN DIFFICULTIES. FOR WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STRONG.”
Being weak and needing GOD’S strength and power is a good thing actually. Our world tends to idolize strength in everything. Why is it that we love super-heroes so much?
PSALM 28: 8 “THE LORD IS THE STRENGTH OF HIS PEOPLE; HE IS THE SAVING REFUGE OF HIS ANOINTED.”
Let’s not battle our weaknesses, let’s embrace them. See them as an opportunity for us to fall on our knees and ask a merciful GOD to supply all the strength we are asking for. Because HE will supply…….every single time we ask. It might not be immediately, but there will be slow and steady strength to come. And why? Because GOD knows exactly what is needed at the moment of our weakness. When we come to the end of our rope, HE is there to catch us.
Put being at war with your weakness to rest today……let it go. Let the thoughts go of how strong you need to be in the moments of life and draw on GOD’S endless strength instead. Is it physical weakness? HE is there! Is it mental weakness? HE is there! Is it situational weakness? GOD is there too! I think it is interesting how often GOD commands in Deuteronomy and the book of Joshua to be: strong and courageous. And HE tells us why……because HE is WITH US! HIS promise to Moses and Joshua was this…….
DEUTERONOMY 31: 6 “……..FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD GOES WITH YOU; HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.”
In your weakness today, remember that GOD never leaves you in that weakness. Instead HE walks alongside you, holding you up in HIS strength. It’s a strength to help you get through whatever you face. What a comfort and what a blessing to know we have a GOD like this……HE is our very own strong tower and the ROCK on which we stand!
PSALM 18:39 “YOU ARMED ME WITH STRENGTH FOR BATTLE.”
2 CORINTHIANS 12: 9 “BUT HE SAID TO ME, MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, FOR MY POWER IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS.”

I’m in total agreement that we can – and should – always go to God for strength. He provides.
Sometimes, for me, it’s a bit harder when He provides that strength through another person. I am learning to humble myself and admit that I can’t do it all. God made us for each other, and we need each other. ( 1 Corinthians Ch 12)

Amen 🙏 Our weakness is not the end of the story. It is often where we discover just how strong God truly is. When we cannot carry ourselves, He carries us.
