When we obey the Holy Spirit there is a yielding of our own spirit involved. It is a submitting of spirit and temperament. Sometimes this feels very hard to do, especially when we want our own way. We are a selfish people most of the time and we have made ourselves our top priority. But the Holy Spirit has a way of pointing us in another direction.
I think you can yield to someone you trust fully. It’s a giving up of control and then falling into the arms of grace.
JAMES 4: 6 “BUT HE GIVES US MORE GRACE. THAT IS WHY SCRIPTURE SAYS: GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT SHOWS FAVOR TO THE HUMBLE.”
To fall into HIS arms takes some trusting and humility. It’s a having no where else to go and a knowing that no one else is there to truly listen. Everyone is carrying something that they figure no one wants to hear about. GOD listens to a heart fully yielded to HIM. Ask GOD anything…….HE listens. Pray this today friends…….
“LORD, TAKE MY LIFE AND MAKE IT WHOLLY THINE; FILL MY POOR AND BROKEN HEART WITH YOUR GREAT LOVE DIVINE!”
Find comfort in those words and even in your own tears which GOD counts and keeps record of……
PSALM 56:8 “YOU HAVE KEPT COUNT OF MY TOSSINGS; PUT MY TEARS IN YOUR BOTTLE. ARE THEY NOT IN YOUR BOOK?”
Knowing GOD counts my tears is impressive…..even I don’t do that, but HE does. You have to trust a GOD who is that attentive to all of who we are. When you trust GOD, then you follow HIM into battle, into joy-filled times and even when your future is uncertain. But you learn to follow because you have yielded to HIM wholeheartedly.
I like to imagine my one heart being cupped in the LORD’S hands. HE holds my heart gently and faithfully, never letting go. And while HE holds it, HE molds it into a heart like HIS. Those hands of HIS have immeasurable strength, so these days for me, HE is the true strength of my heart…….
PSALM 73: 26 “MY FLESH AND MY HEART MAY FAIL, BUT GOD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART AND MY PORTION FOREVER.”
Often times our flesh is so weak and then, there are times our hearts hurt so much we feel we cannot go on. But when we yield and trust GOD, lean on HIM fully, then HE gives us all the strength we need to make it through and when we do this over and over, our trust develops. Yielding and trusting go together along with our daily faith. When we yield to GOD and put our hearts in HIS hands, HE becomes our ROCK and our strength. Yield to HIM today and feel HIS supernatural strength. Stop resisting the GOD of the universe and know today, that YOU are LOVED!
PSALM 40:2 “HE LIFTED ME OUT OF THE SLIMY PIT, OUT OF THE MUD AND MIRE; HE SET MY FEET ON A ROCK AND GAVE ME A FIRM PLACE TO STAND.”

When we realize God is all we have and all we need, it brings us to a point of yielding and trusting. Iām so grateful we can rely on Him and His power with everything we face. šš»š¤

Love your whole post! You make such good points:
“And while HE holds it, HE molds it into a heart like HIS”
“HE gives us all the strength we need to make it through and when we do this over and over, our trust develops.”
Yes, it is often so hard to yield to God, especially immediately in the heat of a moment. š«¤š But yes, when we do this over and over, we can trust that, when we put that flesh aside (and the quicker the better) and yield to God, His blessings are abundant.

It’s a continual learning with GOD in HIS classroom of this life. Learning to yield is a hard one for sure!
