LOOK…..STOP…….LISTEN

COME HOME TO YOUR HEART.

I would say right now we are in the dog days of summer. It’s our very hot season here in Arizona with temps reaching between 115 and 120 degrees. So we spend a lot of time inside in the air conditioning. The sun and heat has a way of zapping every ounce of energy out of you. This season is hard to get through and I know we are not the only ones experiencing this type of heat. And so what does one do? You start to spend a little time looking inward because you are slowing down and not so busy. And you long for cooler days!

TODAY TRY THIS: PLACE YOUR HAND ON YOUR HEART AND SIT STILL FEELING IT’S BEAT IN HIS PRESENCE.

Make an effort to sit still a moment, calm your mind and quiet your soul.

PSALM 131: 2 “BUT I HAVE CALMED AND QUIETED MY SOUL.”

Sit quiet today and know that GOD’S spirit lives within you. Stop doubting today and start believing……..

JOHN 20: 29 “BECAUSE YOU HAVE SEEN ME, YOU HAVE BELIEVED; BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN AND YET HAVE BELIEVED.”

GOD wants our hearts most of all. And because HIS spirit has taken up residence there, HE treasures each and every heart owned by HIM. We are chosen and loved by HIM. Above all else, do this too:

PROVERBS 4: 23 “ABOVE ALL ELSE, GUARD YOUR HEART, FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FLOWS FROM IT.”

Another way to say that is to guard your heart because it determines the course of your life. So cover it today with your hand, feel it’s beat, quiet your soul and then listen for HIS voice. HE wants to meet you right where you are……just stop and believe! Do all of this because GOD holds your heart in HIS strong, capable HANDS. Then listen in the quiet for HIS wisdom and love for you.

DEUTERONOMY 30: 6 “THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEARTS AND THE HEARTS OF YOUR DESCENDANTS, SO THAT YOU MAY LOVE HIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOU SOUL, AND LIVE.”

  1. It’s interesting how God tailors our circumstances (even the climate) as invitations to draw closer to Him.

“Be still and know that I AM God.”

I like your suggestion to put our hands on our hearts as we meditate on God’s presence there. Often, making a physical gesture or position brings it home, makes it more real.
