Who was your first thought this morning? Did you wake up with JESUS on your mind? Did you think: cannot wait to get my coffee and Bible? Could it be that HE gave you and I one more day of 24hours to live just for HIM? Could it be that HE has given you one more day filled with HIS grace?

When we are going through something hard and painful, JESUS is there, faithfully to give us just enough grace for the step we are on, just enough light and just enough hope. I know this and I am living this right now and in the midst of my pain, I can still worship while I wait, pray while I hurt and even believe while broken. And why? Because JESUS is my refuge.

PSALM 119: 114 “YOU ARE MY HIDING PLACE AND MY SHIELD; I HOPE IN YOUR WORD.”

A dear friend of mine relates to that refuge as “JESUS being the faithful Savior that HE is, gives her a shot of adrenaline to help her face her day.” I like that…….JESUS being our shot of grace for our day. Because no other person on this planet can do this for us……no one. JESUS is our shot in the arm to begin our day so that we see and live HIS way and when we do, all our problems seem to shrink in HIS grace. HE is the refuge for our very souls. Just like we get shots from the doctor to keep us healthy, JESUS is our shot to keep our souls healthy!

THE SHOT JESUS GIVES YOU? IT IS POWERED BY HOPE AND GRACE.

It’s actually quite amazing how that works. I don’t understand all of it, but I know when I take refuge in HIM, that HE is a very present help in my time of need. HIS power give us that daily lift we need and that daily hope, hope for a new day with new possibilities. And the best time in the world to receive all of this is in your early a.m. time, before the world comes crashing in.

SO TWO SUGGESTIONS HERE: TRY FOR A WEEK TO GET UP A LITTLE EARLIER AND NO REACHING FOR YOUR PHONE OR THE TV. GO STRAIGHT TO JESUS.

Because you WILL find your refuge there. HE waits for you with outstretched arms and a love you cannot find even if you searched all the earth. GOD’s power is mighty and great and it is waiting, just for you today!

ROMANS 5: 2 “THROUGH HIM WE HAVE ALSO OBTAINED ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE IN WHICH WE STAND, AND WE REJOICE IN HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD.”
