Living this life is not for the faint of heart! Every morning I reach for my coffee cup that says: “faith as strong as my coffee.” Sometimes I wonder…….is it? Sometimes I feel as if I am standing upon the rock of faith and nothing can come against me. And then, there are those days where my heartbeat of faith is weak. It’s because something was said, or something happened or I read somewhere words that were hurtful and then doubt, tears and pain come to the surface. My heart feels weak and sad and broken.
How is your heart beating today? Because wherever you are in your faith walk, I want you to know that we do have a GOD who sees, one who cares and one who loves us so very much.
I tell myself and I am telling you……..it’s ok if your current heartbeat is weak. And you know why? Because all you need is CHRIST to give you that extra strength you know you are lacking……..
PSALM 73: 26 “MY FLESH AND MY HEART MAY FAIL, BUT GOD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART AND MY PORTION FOREVER.”
Unfortunately, our present world can steal away from us what is most precious to us. What do we do then? JESUS prays on our behalf. Remember HE is the ONE who sees and you can read all about what HE prays for us in HIS word…….
JOHN 17: 11 “I AM NO LONGER IN THE WORLD; AND I COME TO YOU. HOLY FATHER, KEEP THEM IN YOUR NAME, THE NAME WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE EVEN AS WE ARE.”
Throughout JOHN 17 JESUS prays for HIS children and I go there when I am faint of heart, mind and soul. And you should read there too…….HE is our strength and HE is our heart. And what HE prays there will comfort us in our time of weakness. Let’s remember this too…….
PSALM 28: 7 “THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD; IN HIM MY HEART TRUSTS, AND I AM HELPED; MY HEART EXULTS AND WITH MY SONG I GIVE THANKS TO HIM.”
OH, the power of GOD! Oh HIS strength that HE gives us when our faith grows faint! Oh the heartbeat of CHRIST!!
When I was in a women’s ministry several years ago, we used to ask one another: where this week have you been the heartbeat of CHRIST? But I never realized then that HE was my heartbeat when I came to the end of myself! HE was the strength of my failed heart! I realized that HE pours into our faint heart HIS grace when we ask. When we receive this life-giving grace, then our hearts will be lifted up upon HIS glory, with burden lifted and a heart shifted towards HIM who loves us so. And our faint heartbeat beats strong again!
Here is the encouragement I want to leave with you today…….
The GOD who holds your sweet heart in HIS hands never sleeps, never leaves you and never looks away. When you are weak and faint of heart, HE is near and so are HIS HANDS of strength and grace. You can count on the Father because GOD’S heart beats within you! And HIS heart is all the strength you will ever need!

PSALM 121: 3 “HE WILL NOT LET YOUR FOOT BE MOVED; HE WHO KEEPS YOU WILL NOT SLUMBER.”
