I think we all at one time or another, feel very alone. We are alone in our problems, alone in our grief or just physically alone. When we feel as if no one is there for us, GOD is right there in those hidden places and often that is how HE does HIS best work in us. HE gets us alone for a reason either to reawaken us, or to show us something, or just to give us the comfort we cannot get anywhere else.
I recently had a moment like this. I had read something online that cut through my heart like nothing I have ever read in my life and I went outside on the back patio and just cried my little heart out about it. No one saw, but GOD did. HE was there with me, watching me and I knew I was not alone because I was so comforted in that moment.
PSALM 62: 1-2 “FOR GOD ALONE MY SOUL WAITS IN SILENCE; FROM HIM COMES MY SALVATION. HE ALONE IS MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION, MY FORTRESS; I SHALL NOT BE GREATLY SHAKEN.”
Sometimes we can pinpoint a turning moment we have, a change, a lifting of weight, a renewed sense of strength and courage. We know we are not walking this path alone and the more aware we are of HIS nearness in those hidden moments, the better. Because that is when GOD does some of HIS best work………
YOU THERE…….DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE SEEN?
Remember Hagar? She was fleeing from Sarai her mistress when an angel of the LORD appeared to her in the wilderness. The angel of the LORD told her she would conceive more children and to return and submit to Sarai. And after the encounter Hagai said this:
GENESIS 16: 13 “SO SHE CALLED THE NAME OF THE LORD WHO SPOKE TO HER, “YOU ARE THE GOD OF SEEING”, FOR SHE SAID, TRULY HERE I HAVE SEEN HIM WHO LOOKS AFTER ME.”
YOU THERE…….DO YOU KNOW GOD LOOKS AFTER YOU?
It is HIM who looks after us, who sees us even in all those hidden moments, when no one else sees. I’ve always said what we do in those private moments when no one else sees says a lot about us. And GOD knows all of our hidden thoughts too. HE intimately knows us more than we do. We were written in HIS book before time began and HE is writing our story alongside us. Those hidden moments? They were designed to grow and move and help us walk this life. HIS love for us really is better than life……
PSALM 63: 3-4 “BECAUSE YOUR STEADFAST LOVE IS BETTER THAN LIFE, MY LIPS WILL PRAISE YOU. SO I WILL BLESS YOU AS LONG AS I LIVE; IN YOUR NAME I WILL LIFT UP MY HANDS.”
GOD is close to us and very near when we were wronged and we wept, when we were ignored and wondered why, when we were passed over and wondered if we were ever seen. Because the world’s justice is upside down, but GOD’S justice is perfect. And that is why HE sees…….a wrong might not be made right in this world, but because HE saw? It will be made right someday or in the next life. Take comfort that HE is working in our hidden places and in HIS too. That is a mystery often, but one day it will all be revealed.
Take comfort today dear one, in knowing that GOD sees when no one around you does. And HE comforts and satisfies because…….today, you are loved!
