If you are like me, the noticing type, then you will agree that people these days are just downright mean. And it’s getting to the point where you must put on all the armor of GOD to go and leave your home. Sometimes I am taken back by what I hear people saying to one another in stores. This meanness and hatred is everywhere and especially on social media. All of it drains you on a daily basis. It slowly hurts your soul and you feel as if the life is sucked right out of you. Often times you hear and sometimes you see something you can’t unsee.
Where can one go and what can one do for this? Because it is a choice to remain drained, running on empty or to get refreshed where this nourishment fills and completes and makes things all new again.
EVERYDAY OUR SOULS NEED NOURISHMENT OTHERWISE WE ARE IN DANGER OF DRYING UP AND BLOWING AWAY!
JOHN 7:38 “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME, AS THE SCRIPTURE HAS SAID, OUT OF HIS HEART WILL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.”
Quick question: is your Bible within your eyesight right now? Is it handy to you where GOD can meet you with this living water HE so graciously offers? There is refreshment and joy to be found in this living water and HIS words to you. I think it is interesting that in the book of JOB it says this: JOB 14: 19 “WATER WEARS AWAY STONES…….”
Could it be that this living water will wear away our hearts that slowly turn back over to stone due to the influence of the world? GOD took away our hearts of stone and turned them to flesh, but now much of the cruel world pulls those fleshy hearts back into it’s direction! How much of life makes us numb and heartless, when we should be compassionate and loving?
ISAIAH 55: 1 “EVERY ONE WHO THIRSTS, COME TO THE WATERS…….”
EVERY…….one……..come. Not just some, everyone! When we come thirsty, HE meets us there and just like the Samaritan woman at the well, JESUS tells us this:
JOHN 4: 14 “…….BUT WHOEVER DRINKS THE WATER I GIVE THEM WILL NEVER THIRST. INDEED, THE WATER I GIVE THEM WILL BECOME IN THEM A SPRING OF WATER WELLING UP TO ETERNAL LIFE.”
Don’t our souls thirst for this life-giving water every day? I think sometimes we are unaware of how much our souls are depleted by our world. So stop today, sit quietly and let HIS water and words wash all over you in a refreshing drink from a well that will never run dry. Let your faith take the lead instead of your feelings or fear. JESUS knows what we need, when we need it. GO to HIM today and get a refreshing drink!
PSALM 107: 9 “FOR HE HAS SATISFIED THE THIRSTY SOUL.”
