At one time or another, when GOD opened your eyes and mine, we made a decision to follow HIM. And when that moment happened, that moment of grace, we said we were all in 100%. There was no partially in, no maybe soon, no almost in, we were committed with all our being that JESUS was LORD and we were going to follow HIM because we knew we could not survive this sin-soaked world without HIM.

Who do you know today that is an almost follower? Meaning they are on the fence about religion, or not sure what they believe but they do know there is a GOD in Heaven. Some say they believe, but don’t truly follow. It can be a hard thing wondering what life will be like if they follow JESUS.

JOHN 10: 27 “MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE; I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME.”

Almost followers think they are good people and that should be enough to get them into heaven, without truly understanding what JESUS did for us on the Cross.

BE THANKFUL TODAY FOR HIS SACRIFICE ON THE CROSS FOR YOU.

We need to remind ourselves of this every day, because too often we forget. Remember the story of Nicodemus? He so wanted to believe, but his reasoning and his mind got in the way. And his belief was that JESUS was a teacher from GOD, not GOD HIMSELF who came to teach. All the evidence was before him and yet……..

JOHN 3: 3 “JESUS ANSWERED HIM, TRULY, TRULY I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS ONE IS BORN AGAIN HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”

Truly, truly JESUS said. We can believe HIS word or not. We can be on the fence or not. We have true faith or we don’t.

JOHN 3: 8 “THE WIND BLOWS WHERE IT WISHES, AND YOU HEAR ITS SOUND, BUT YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT COMES FROM OR WHERE IT GOES. SO IT IS WITH EVERYONE WHO IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT.”

If you are someone reading this right now and feel like well I am almost there, I just need to do this or that……remember you can come before JESUS just as you are! HE knows you better than you know yourself! So pray this prayer today and receive JESUS into your heart:

LORD JESUS, FOR TOO LONG I’VE KEPT YOU OUT OF MY LIFE. I KNOW THAT I AM A SINNER AND THAT I CANNOT SAVE MYSELF. NO LONGER WILL I CLOSE THE DOOR WHEN I HEAR YOU KNOCKING. BY FAITH, I GRATEFULLY RECEIVE YOUR GIFT OF SALVATION. I AM READY TO TRUST YOU AS MY LORD AND SAVIOR. THANK YOU, LORD JESUS, FOR COMING TO EARTH. I BELIEVE YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD WHO DIED ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD ON THE THIRD DAY. THANK YOU FOR BEARING MY SINS AND GIVING ME THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE. I BELIEVE YOUR WORDS ARE TRUE. COME INTO MY HEART TODAY LORD JESUS, AND BE MY SAVIOR. AMEN. (THE SINNER’S PRAYER BY DR. RAY PRITCHARD)

Another place you can pray a sinner’s prayer from Scripture is PSALM 51 by King David.

Either way, pray with all your heart and pray with all faith. You will not be disappointed inviting JESUS into your heart and you will not regret leaving all your “almost” thoughts behind you! Instead, love the LORD with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. Then go tell anyone who will listen the wonderful and matchless love and forgiveness you have found in JESUS CHRIST.

JOHN 12: 23 “WHOEVER LOVES HIS LIFE LOSES IT, AND WHOEVER HATES HIS LIFE IN THIS WORLD WILL KEEP IT FOR ETERNAL LIFE.”
