In this season of life, I see that GOD is building and rebuilding me. As I look back and remember what life was like before breast cancer, I am not the same. There has been hurt, shame and joy all at the same time, and in spite of it all, I still know and I knew that GOD had me securely in HIS capable hands.
PSALM 89: 13 “YOU HAVE A MIGHTY ARM; STRONG IS YOUR HAND, AND HIGH IS YOUR RIGHT HAND.”
HIS hand is strong and mighty and what HE has taken from me HE is replacing and rebuilding and restoring. Since GOD knows me and you even better than we know ourselves, we can trust HIS reordering of our lives in some seasons.
2 CORINTHIANS 7:16 “I REJOICE, BECAUSE I HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN YOU.”
The American Standard Version says it this way: “I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.”
Oh how my two words for 2026 BRAVE JOY are coming to light right now! I chose those words to live by in January and I am living them large right now in my life and in my heart. Being brave to trust GOD enough in the middle of deep heartbreak and then lots of joy to continue forward to see how HE is rebuilding me. This past year I have felt as if I have almost lost my core and my identity of who I was. But GOD! HE strips away and tears down what needs to be removed and what was hindering you. HE reforms your heart, humbles your soul and restores what was lost or even stolen from you. HE breathes fresh life into a broken soul only because HE is near to the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit.
JEREMIAH 31: 28 “AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS THAT AS I HAVE WATCHED OVER THEM TO PLUCK UP AND BREAK DOWN, TO OVERTHROW, DESTROY, AND BRING HARM, SO I WILL WATCH OVER THEM TO BUILD AND TO PLANT, DECLARES THE LORD.”
To build and to plant! HE builds us and rebuilds us because where we are going we cannot take some of what this world has implanted into us. Sometimes HE takes everything you held dear from you, everything you held close and then you question and ask over and over: LORD what is left? And HIS answer is this:
BEHOLD…..THE LORD YOUR GOD!
GOD meets us inside of what never should have happened and what never should have been there in the first place. HE tears down walls we have placed to protect ourselves. HE even tears down again what others have torn down……to replace it all with love and grace. He rebuilds us day by day, forgives us of our sins and turns us into a person HE wants for HIS kingdom, to use here and to keep for HIS glory. We have been built by the world and GOD tears all that down to remake us into HIS very own people, a people set apart and a people who are anointed.
JOHN 10: 4 “AND WHEN HE BRINGS OUT HIS OWN SHEEP, HE GOES BEFORE THEM; AND THE SHEEP FOLLOW HIM, FOR THEY KNOW HIS VOICE.”
Do you hear HIS voice today? Follow HIS voice when HE calls you to turn to the right or the left…….
ISAIAH 30:21 “AND YOUR EARS SHALL HEAR A WORD BEHIND YOU SAYING, THIS IS THE WAY, WALK IN IT, WHEN YOU TURN TO THE RIGHT OR WHEN YOU TURN TO THE LEFT.”
When we surrender to GOD, we become the men and women GOD wants us to be……men and women built by a strong and mighty and HOLY GOD!
PSALM 51: 12 “RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION AND GRANT ME A WILLING SPIRIT TO SUSTAIN ME.”
