NEVER WAVERING

NO NEED TO WAVER IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST

I must confess that lately I have been wavering between hope and grief. Grief is different for everyone for sure and so is hope. When our hope wavers there is only ONE to turn to.

ROMANS 4: 18 “AGAINST ALL HOPE, ABRAHAM IN HOPE BELIEVED AND SO BECAME THE FATHER OF MANY NATIONS, AS IT HAD BEEN SAID TO HIM.

Against all hope…….Abraham believed, and we should too. Let us not waver in our hope in the LORD! And so I have not been wavering in my faith, but I have been in my hope. This can happen when you feel like GOD isn’t doing anything to answer your prayer (although HE is) and you don’t see much change in the people or the situations you are praying for.

ROMANS 4: 20 “YET HE DID NOT WAVER THROUGH UNBELIEF REGARDING THE PROMISE OF GOD, BUT WAS STRENGTHENED IN HIS FAITH AND GAVE GLORY TO GOD….”

I believe sometimes we need to have that Anna type faith and hope. She was a prophetess who was 84 years old and still worshipped and prayed night and day in the temple. She continually lived in the LORD’S presence and had unwavering hope that she would see the LORD and when she did, she gave thanks and spoke of HIM who had come. She spent a lifetime keeping GOD’S word close to her heart and her hope remained steady all those years. I want to have that Anna type hope and faith in the LORD that carries me through the rest of my years don’t you?

Let’s remember and remind ourselves of when GOD has stood by us and answered our prayers and our hopes.

Our hope is found in our past and in our future. Going through trials just goes to show how faithful GOD is and how HIS answer to our prayers and the way HE goes about it, draws us closer to HIM. HE is immovable and forever faithful.

When I was diagnosed with cancer my hope wavered in the uncertainty of it all, however, one night I drew close to GOD and HE drew close to me. I have not forgotten the peace of that moment with HIS hand upon me letting me know that I would never walk this cancer road alone. Because the hard part of cancer that no one gets unless they are diagnosed is this: there is always a chance that it will return and when it does, it returns with a vengeance. That nagging fact is always with you. And so, every single day you pray and you hope that today is not the day it returns.

LAMENTATIONS 3: 21 “BUT THIS I CALL TO MIND AND THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE: THE STEADFAST LOVE OF THE LORD NEVER CEASES, HIS MERCIES NEVER COME TO AN END.”

Today, if your hope for your life has wavered some and you wonder why your life is the way it is…….don’t let the enemy steal your hope! Because he will try and he will taunt and lie to you and tell you how alone you are in your struggles. Instead call on the name of the LORD, cry out to HIM and know your HOPE is in HIM alone today and every day that comes. The LORD never turns away and never turns us away! And in that we can place all our hope!

LAMENTATIONS 3: 24 “THE LORD IS MY PORTION, SAYS MY SOUL, THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE IN HIM.”
