Today is a new day, another day where we turn the calendar. If you are like me, you own a flip calendar. I have others, but my favorite are the flip ones. There is always a surprise scripture waiting for me.
And so, the days keep coming and we are closer with each one to our LORD returning.
MALACHI 4: 1 “SURELY THE DAY IS COMING WILL BURN LIKE A FURNACE. ALL THE ARROGANT AND EVERY EVILDOER WILL BE STUBBLE, AND THE DAY THAT IS COMING WILL SET THEM ON FIRE, SAYS THE LORD ALMIGHTY.”
A day of justice is coming……..
When we look at all the evil in the world, all the injustices, shouldn’t we take comfort in knowing that the LORD JESUS is coming back and will make everything right again? Do we look forward to the day? Don’t we scream for justice……now?
MALACHI 4: 2 “BUT FOR YOU WHO REVERE MY NAME, THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL RISE WITH HEALING IN IT’S RAYS.”
It’s a comfort knowing that when the LORD returns……on that day…….all will be made right again. The LORD knows and sees all the injustices in our world, knows all the sins and how fallen we all are and HE alone will make all things new.
REVELATION 21: 5 “AND HE WHO WAS SEATED ON THE THRONE SAID, BEHOLD, I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW.”
Surely, the great day of the LORD is coming!
But are we looking for it? Are we searching the skies for HIS return? Because we should be. We should want this day to come more than any other day. Let’s desire it, ask for it and keep vertical in all of our thinking.
It’s ok to want things to be restored and to want relationships to be healed. However, some of these situations will not be addressed until the LORD returns.
REVELATION 21: 4 “HE WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES, AND DEATH SHALL BE NO MORE, NEITHER SHALL THERE BE MOURNING, NOR CRYING, NOR PAIN ANYMORE, FOR THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY.”
If you are in pain or grief right now……take comfort in the above promise! But in the meantime we have to live on this broken planet so what should we do?
HEBREWS 10: 24-25 “AND LET US CONSIDER HOW WE MAY SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON TOWARD LOVE AND GOOD DEEDS, NOT GIVING UP MEETING TOGETHER, AS SOME ARE IN THE HABIT OF DOING, BUT ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER AND ALL THE MORE AS YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.”
And there you have it. Cling to the LORD and cling to the Body of Christ! Stay faithful in all you are doing, and don’t give up as some do. Wait for HIM, look for HIM and in the meantime, live and serve for HIM with all your heart and soul!
And when JESUS returns you will hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
