GOD refines us in the midst of the fire, in the midst of suffering and hardship, and as HE does this, we emerge and come forth as gold.

JOB 23: 10 “BUT HE KNOWS THE WAY THAT I TAKE; WHEN HE HAS TRIED ME, I SHALL COME FORTH AS GOLD.”

There are so many people suffering today and some just become angry at GOD and very bitter, while others see it as GOD doing something profound within them. And going against what it is like to be human…….they embrace the suffering. But who wants to do this you say? Who wants to embrace what hurts rather than run from it?

GOD USES FIERY TRIALS TO REFINE US FOR OUR GOOD AND ALL FOR HIS GLORY.

An eternal perspective is needed here. It is the only solution that makes sense. Ever notice how a huge problem looms large when we focus on it and nothing else? We tend to lose sleep, walk in anxiety and feel generally off balance with our life.

The eternal perspective here is the whole idea of working out our salvation that is to be applied to each of us. Paul says in Philippians this:

PHILIPPIANS 2: 12 “THEREFORE, MY BELOVED, AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS OBEYED, SO NOW, NOT ONLY AS IN MY PRESENCE BUT MUCH MORE IN MY ABSENCE, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING.”

We do get discouraged when we are in the midst of these fire battles when we compare what we are going through to others. We wonder why our particular trials are more difficult than someone else. You may be walking through one right now, but take heart my friend! GOD is refining you so that you will come forth as gold!

I have been walking through firery trials during this last season of my life. Some have been physical and others include deaths of dreams that never happened. This current broken world has touched me in a deep way and I have asked GOD those hard questions: why me? Why this? When will this end? What if this prayer never gets answered? I may lose many people around me, and dreams and opportunities, but there is ONE who I will never lose…….my LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!

NOTHING ON THIS EARTH CAN TAKE MY FAITH FROM ME.

ROMANS 1: 17 “FOR IN IT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IS REVEALED FROM FAITH TO FAITH; AS IT IS WRITTEN, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

We need to live well today, according to the scriptures in the midst of the fire, because of it’s refining power, because of HIS faithful touch and because of our continued faith. Let the LORD’S love and grace quench your soul and know that your victory in HIM is coming!

1 JOHN 5: 4 “FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD OVERCOMES THE WORLD. AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD – OUR FAITH.”
