How hard after GOD are you intentionally looking? Is it a daily, all hours intentionally looking? Do you see HIM in your surroundings where others do not? I remember when I was a little girl, my sweet Dad was always pointing things out to me, showing me where GOD’S hand was. I wonder if I learned from him or have I developed this intentional skill because I have asked GOD to “see” HIM?
I believe we don’t see HIM unless we ask. Don’t we want to interact with our Creator the way Adam and Eve did?
GENESIS 3: 9 “BUT THE LORD GOD CALLED TO THE MAN, “WHERE ARE YOU?”
GOD has been looking for us since the beginning…….are we looking for HIM? We don’t see HIM unless we are looking for HIM with all our hearts, souls and minds. But it takes effort and awareness. This is where we get lazy when we say: GOD reveal yourself to us. How often we get too busy and miss all of HIS treasures for us.
ISAIAH 66: 2 “HAS NOT MY HAND MADE ALL THESE THINGS, AND SO THEY CAME INTO BEING? DECLARES THE LORD. THESE ARE THE ONES I LOOK ON WITH FAVOR: THOSE WHO ARE HUMBLE AND CONTRITE IN SPIRIT, AND WHO TREMBLE AT MY WORD.”
Do you confidently ask HIM to reveal HIMSELF to you and yet humbly submit your heart for whatever answer comes your way? HE may show you and reveal to you very hard things because HE is stripping away from you all within you that cannot go where you are going.
1 PETER 1: 15 “BUT JUST AS HE WHO CALLED YOU IS HOLY, SO BE HOLY IN ALL YOU DO.”
It is a holy pursuit this continual awareness of the FATHER. It starts to become as natural to you as breathing and you cannot imagine your life without it. By HIS grace HE gives you the eyes to see and the ears to hear HIM!
LEVITICUS 20: 26 “YOU SHALL BE HOLY TO ME, FOR I THE LORD AM HOLY AND HAVE SEPERATED YOU FROM THE PEOPLES, THAT YOU SHOULD BE MINE.”
Intentionally looking for your GOD will reveal what is hard to look at: the relationship destroyed, the validation you thought you needed, the attachment to the things of this world and even the dreams that died. All this and more may be stripped away from you, all the while you are seeking HIM. And you wonder why! Because HE takes and strips away all that should not be around you and in you. GOD rebuilds and remakes you into the person HE wants you to be. I recently thought in this season of my life that “GOD, you have taken so much from me, what are you doing?” And then I got this message from HIM that HE had to take those things from me because where I am going in HIS kingdom, those very things do not reside there.
IF GOD IS CURRENTLY BREAKING YOU, KNOW THAT HE IS REMAKING YOU!
GOD brings forth beauty from the ashes and know this dear reader:
ISAIAH 61: 3 “……AND PROVIDE FOR THOSE WHO GRIEVE IN ZION – TO BESTOW ON THEM A CROWN OF BEAUTY INSTEAD OF ASHES, THE OIL OF JOY INSTEAD OF MOURNING, AND A GARMENT OF PRAISE INSTEAD OF A SPIRIT OF DESPAIR. THEY WILL BE CALLED OAKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, A PLANTING OF THE LORD FOR THE DISPLAY OF HIS SPLENDOR.”
All that is torn down by HIM, will be rebuilt by HIM as oaks of righteousness and as a display of HIS splendor, not ours. It feels so much like loss, this remaking and rebuilding, but with HIS hand upon us, GOD knows exactly what HE is doing within us……just keep looking for HIM because then, HE will be found by you!
JEREMIAH 29: 12-14 “THEN YOU WILL CALL ON ME AND COME AND PRAY TO ME, AND I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART. I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU, DECLARES THE LORD.”
