HEAVENSREEF

In our throw away society people just don’t seem to care much about anything these days.  People quickly discard their belongings and even more so with people!  There is a bigger trend these days of throwing away a loving family and even friends.  Relationships can be messy and sometimes it takes a humble spirit and our GOD to restore and repair them.  It breaks my heart to read of what some are currently going through with their families.

With all this sadness and hurt and brokenness, I am finding that I must treasure what produces good within me, in my heart. So…….I have asked myself: what do I treasure deeply?  What remains in my heart, in that special secret place that I know and GOD knows about me. 

LUKE 6:  45   “THE GOOD PERSON OUT OF THE GOOD TREASURE OF HIS HEART PRODUCES GOOD.”

Good treasure produces good.  So what do you treasure dear reader?  What is the highest esteem for you?  Something you would die for?  Is it something you cannot imagine your living without?

Treasure to me is not about the stuff.  No, treasure to me is something of great worth or value.  And so my greatest treasure is my salvation, due to my Savior, JESUS CHRIST!! 

PSALM 85:  9  “SURELY HIS SALVATION IS NEAR THOSE WHO FEAR HIM……..” 

And so, we learn over time to treasure what GOD treasures! Here are just a few and feel free to add to this list!

• JESUS………I treasure HIM
• THE CROSS……..I treasure what it stands for
• HIS WORD……..I treasure all the wisdom there
• FORGIVENESS……..I treasure where I am in life, due to CHRIST’S grace
• RIGHTEOUSNESS……I treasure HIS righteousness credited into my account.
• SOVEREIGN GOD…….I treasure HIS control of my life
• HOLY SPIRIT……..I treasure the Spirit’s power and guidance for me

My list could be even longer, but these stand out above everything for me.  I hold them securely in my heart and I know GOD sees them, and knows they mean everything to me…….my treasures of the heart.

None of the above would exist there, had GOD not opened my eyes to see…….HIM and all that HE is.  I thank HIM each day for touching me with HIS grace to see HIM.  Because right now, many don’t and many are doomed to a place that no one should ever want to go. And so we pray for their hearts to be softened and their eyes opened.  Just like ours were.

FORGIVE US LORD WHEN WE HAVE TREASURED THE PERISHABLE.

I treasure today all things eternal, how about you my friend?  What do you treasure?  May all your treasures of the heart bring you joy and happiness today, just as they do mine!
