HEAVENSREEF

I have often sat on a beach feeling the warm breeze, watching the waves come in and feeling the sand under my feet and thought:  I wish this exact moment would last……..forever.  It is interesting to me that GOD has placed the desire for forever into our hearts and minds. It is a desire for something or someone to last……forever.  

Recently we replaced our garage door opener and I won’t even say here what we paid for a new one, springs and all new parts. UGH.  We wanted a guarantee for 5 years at least……but sure wished it would last forever.

In our broken world things wear out unfortunately.  We learn they don’t last forever, even when we kind of need them to.  Even people wear out and die because no one lives on this earth forever and much grief comes with the dying. Some of us learned very early on that there are no guarantees on or with anything!

But thinking of guarantees……. there is ONE that is forever and ever yours and mine:

ROMANS 8:  38-39   “FOR I AM SURE THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE, NOR ANGELS, NOR RULERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME, NOR POWERS, NOR HEIGHT NOR DEPTH, NOR ANYTHING ELSE IN ALL CREATION, WILL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE  US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD IN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.”

We are and will never be separated from the love of CHRIST.  HIS dying on the CROSS is completed, for us.  It is finished…….forever.

HIS LOVE AND SACRIFICE IS EVER YOURS!

You see, on your good days and even the bad days, HE still loves you……..completely.  And HIS love is forever.  HE died and paid the price for you and me.  JESUS said on the CROSS:  “IT IS FINISHED”.  And it is finished for all of eternity.

HEBREWS 7:  24   “BUT HE HOLDS HIS PRIESTHOOD PERMANENTLY, BECAUSE HE CONTINUES FOREVER.”

Forever is used a lot in scripture……I like the idea of forever don’t you?  JESUS dying for your sins and mine was completed……once and forever oh it will be!

OUR SALVATION, MINE AND YOURS, IS FOREVER!

What a comfort that is and what a forever blessing we have in CHRIST.  Remind yourself today when you are wishing for “forever” because you won’t find it on this earth.  No, you find it in eternity with our forever JESUS who paid the price we could not do ourselves.  What a gift that HE is forever…….ours!

ISAIAH 51: 6   “BUT MY SALVATION WILL BE FOREVER, AND MY RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL NEVER BE DISMAYED.”

PSALM 100: 5   “HIS STEADFAST LOVE ENDURES FOREVER, AND HIS FAITHFULNESS TO ALL GENERATIONS.”
