If you have candles everywhere, light them, light them!  If you have strings of lights, then light them, light them!  Because I think we all need a little Joyous Noel in this season of light.

Joyous Noel translates to Merry Christmas with Noel meaning Christmas in old English and French.  In French it is: Joyeux Noel.  

Noel can mean birthday so knowing this is why we sing Noel at Christmastime to celebrate and honor the good news of the birth of JESUS.

LUKE 2:  10 – 11  “…….BUT THE ANGEL REASSURED THEM, “DON’T BE AFRAID!  HE SAID, I BRING YOU GOOD NEWS THAT WILL BRING GREAT JOY TO ALL PEOPLE.”

So Joyous Noel to all people and from my house here in AZ to yours wherever you are today.  Because if you are tired and weary then I’m sending you a little joy this season.  We all need to let go a little of all the worldly influences and just sit in the light of HIS presence.  GOD has a way of bringing you back to joy and even laughter.

C. K. Chesterton says it this way:  “Joy which was the small publicity of the pagan, is the gigantic secret of the Christian.”

JOHN 15:  11   “I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MAY BE IN YOU AND THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE COMPLETE.”

Someone tried to steal my joy a couple of days ago.  I almost let it go, but then I was reminded of the above scripture.  HIS joy is already within us and so is HIS light and love.  Your light and joy might dim, but it will never, ever go out!  JESUS is always coming for you and for me because HE is the light and joy of the world!

So, this Christmas let your heart be light and then ask GOD to help you continue this all year long.  Because JESUS never stops coming, never stops redeeming and never stops remaking.

 

ISAIAH 49:  13  “SHOUT FOR JOY, YOU HEAVENS; REJOICE, YOU EARTH; BURST INTO SONG, YOU MOUNTAINS!  FOR THE LORD COMFORTS HIS PEOPLE AND WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON HIS AFFLICTED ONES.”
