Hugs are a good thing and we probably don’t do this enough. We all want hugs, but do we give them enough? I am learning to be more free with hugs. You never know how you may touch someone or make their day. And what if it’s the only hug that person received all week?
Gee I even hug my dog, every day. And I have a couple of friends who give great hugs. You know the kind where you just don’t want to let go? Hugs feel good and they warm the heart and touch the soul. I thought going through the pandemic was so awful and isolating. Especially for those who were sick and their loved ones could not be with them. Where were their hugs?
A touch is healing in and of itself and our GOD has HIS way to touch and heal us too. When I pray I get this feeling of being held, being loved and listened to. It’s the way a Father holds his child.
PSALM 139: 10 “EVEN THERE YOUR HAND SHALL LEAD ME, AND YOUR RIGHT HAND SHALL HOLD ME.”
GOD has HIS way of holding us because HE knows us. HE knows every hair on our heads. HE knows every shattered heart, every scar and still HE holds our faces, wipes our tears away and holds us close so we will know the power of HIS love and grace. HE helps us and takes away our fears and anxiety. HE holds our hands through tough times, through surgeries and doctor appointments and celebrations and even on vacation. HE holds us…….always. Oh what a joy it is to be held completely by the great GOD of the universe! Do you feel HIM holding you today?
ISAIAH 41: 13 “FOR I, THE LORD YOUR GOD, WILL HOLD YOUR RIGHT HAND…….SAYING TO YOU, FEAR NOT, I WILL HELP YOU.”
Abiding in HIM daily means HE is abiding with us. Draw near into HIS loving arms and be held. Be held by the greatest love that ever lived. Be held by the ONE who died in your place for your sins. Be held and be comforted. Be held and know……..GOD!
Only when one comes close can one be held. This drawing close is done with all heart and soul, with knees bent and an increased desire to know and to feel HIM near. And the best news? GOD is always near us, HE never leaves us alone and yes, HE continually holds our right hand.
I often imagine this: JESUS walking with me, holding my hand into doctor appointments or getting on an airplane. Those things alone bring me anxiety, but HE brings me peace. HE is peace…….peace in our hearts, souls and minds.
So why in the world do we get up every day? It’s because HE has held us, all night long into the day so we will draw near and praise HIM, praise HIM for what HE has done for us. Don’t doubt…….draw near. HE is such a good good GOD to us. HE never let’s us go! No one can snatch us out of HIS hands! So…….hold on tight to HIM today. Be held and be loved. HE will embrace you, every single day and every minute of the day, you need only to draw near!
Great post. Hugs are often just what people need.

I am definitely a hugger. If/when we ever meet, I know there will be a loooong hug! 💖
I love your visual of God holding me, hugging me, being right here with me. So comforting.

Beautiful words, my Dear Sister 💖. I love hugging 🤗. My wife gets mad at me sometimes because when we’re at church ⛪, I’m hugging everyone 😄. I’ve even been told I’m the greatest hugger 😂🤗. It’s such a simple act of kindness and togetherness, and a hug can truly make a difference in someone’s life 💞. Especially after Covid 😷, my wife still hates when I hug people or get close 😅, but how else can we share the unity of brotherly and sisterly love at church than with a big hug 🤝 and the words, “You Are Loved” ❤️ For me, I would treasure that moment 🙏💫.

Yes, I will say many people I interact with at my Church are great huggers. Everyone is very open and loving that way. I guess it’s why I am always flying high when I leave Church. I got plenty of hugs to fill me up! YOU are loved and sending you a hug from AZ Willie!

I really needed that today. A hug right back from Chicago to Arizona.
I’m thankful God puts loving people in our lives to lift us up when we’re running low.
You Are Forever Loved 🤗🙏🏼
