If you think about it, GOD in HIS infinite wisdom has HIS way with us, over and over again in our lifetimes.  And often it is at the point of desperation where this happens……..it’s a coming to the end of ourselves, when we just can’t “do this” anymore. 

I enjoyed dinner last night with a sweet Sister in Christ and we agreed that this desperation happens continually in a lifetime…….why is that?  Because we are to be a lot less desperate and a lot more whole!

JESUS comes to us in our heartache and pain.  HE draws near when we draw near to HIM, on our knees.  HE relieves us in such a way that the desperate find calm and peace in their desperation! The desperate find peace in HIS truth and peace in HIS plan, peace in HIS warmth and peace in HIS gentle touch.

GOD wants us to be whole in HIM!  HE wants us to step out in our desperation, trusting HIS promises for us and then learning to walk in HIS light.

2 JOHN 1: 6   “AND THIS IS LOVE, THAT WE WALK ACCORDING TO HIS COMMANDMENTS; THIS IS THE COMMANDMENT, JUST AS YOU HAVE HEARD FROM THE BEGINNING, SO THAT YOU SHOULD WALK IN IT.”

In our desperation, we need to walk in HIS commandments, we need to obey.  Being obedient is hard when you are desperate!  There are so many other things we can turn to in this world!  But don’t let the world fool you…….none of it will satisfy your soul like JESUS will.

And those who have had their hearts crushed for one reason or another, understand this.  GOD has HIS way with us and moves us forward for HIS glory and HIS kingdom, all the while making us whole in CHRIST.

PSALM 145: 13   “YOUR KINGDOM IS AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM, AND YOUR DOMINION ENDURES THROUGH ALL GENERATIONS.  THE LORD IS TRUSTWORTHY IN ALL HE PROMISES AND FAITHFUL IN ALL HE DOES.”

As my friend would say………GOD knows our frame!  HE takes us by the hand, transforms us through the trials and makes us whole again.  GOD will and HE does go to amazing lengths to make us whole.  It’s a lifelong process that we can learn to rest in, because GOD knows us best.

In this wholeness we are made more like JESUS, every day.  We might be broken, but HE gives comfort.  We might be short tempered, but HE gives us patience.  We might be judgmental, but HE gives us compassion.  We might be desperate, but HE gives us clarity.

PHILIPPIANS 4:  19   “AND MY GOD WILL SUPPLY EVERY NEED OF YOURS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS.”

And there it is, plain and simple:  HE will supply all our needs, all our desperate needs and will make us whole again just like HIS SON, JESUS!

PSALM 40:  1   “I WAITED PATIENTLY FOR THE LORD; HE INCLINED TO ME AND HEARD BY CRY.”
