SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

LET YOUR HEART BELONG TO GOD.

Life really comes down to the condition of our hearts.  Our hearts are at war……..war with the world and war in the spiritual realm.

Watch over your heart, because it is from it that your life will flow……..

PROVERBS 4: 23   “KEEP YOUR HEART WITH ALL VIGILANCE FOR FROM IT FLOW THE SPRINGS OF LIFE.”

Who then, holds your heart?  Is it the world or CHRIST?  Because GOD wants your heart more than anything, more than religion and more than actions.

DEUTERONOMY 30: 6   “AND THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEART AND THE HEART OF YOUR OFFSPRING, SO THAT YOU WILL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE.”

That…..you……may………live.  We really aren’t living our days abundantly until we give our hearts whole heartedly to our GOD.  A true Christian will be marked by this love, a heart full of HIS love and grace.

PSALM 73: 6   “MY HEALTH MAY FAIL AND MY SPIRIT GROW WEAK, BUT GOD REMAINS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART; HE IS MINE FOREVER.”

To have strength of heart comes from a GOD of love.  So be consumed by this gracious love and then go love on others.  We can choose to live with a heart shaped by our gracious GOD, or have a heart consumed with hate and judgement for those around us.  Our world right now is a perfect example of this type of behavior……….there is so much hate, so much judgement.

Our hearts may be wounded and bruised, but GOD reshapes and repairs and reforms our hearts.  HE reshapes us and remakes us!  Let your heart be consumed in HIS love, then rejoice in that!  Rejoice today that the GOD of the universe wants to remake your heart into a heart just like HIS.  Let this loving GOD take your sweet heart, hold it tenderly, and then let HIM transform it’s shape into something truly beautiful!  And that my friends, is what true deep GODLY love is all about!

EZEKIAL 11: 19   “I WILL GIVE THEM AN UNDIVIDED HEART AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT IN THEM; I WILL REMOVE FROM THEM THEIR HEART OF STONE AND GIVE THEM A HEART OF FLESH.”

  1. Such a gracious God to give us a new heart (which we could never transform or make new by ourselves); and to give us opportunity to become more like Him every day.

As you point out often in your post, though, we must LET: Let God do His work, put our flesh to death, let God take over. The rewards are so great. We will live.
