IMMANUEL

COME IMMANUEL…….GOD WITH US!

IMMANUEL.  It’s a Hebrew masculine name consisting of two Hebrew words:  El meaning “GOD” and Immanu meaning “with us.”  It’s the with us that should get us!  Love and grace came for us at Christmas.

MATTHEW 1: 21   “SHE WILL GIVE BIRTH TO A SON, AND YOU ARE TO NAME HIM JESUS, BECAUSE HE WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS.”

GOD was born here with us, not above us or distant from us………but with us.

LOVE came down at Christmas and JESUS comes for you and for me.  The birth of JESUS was GOD incarnate, JESUS the Messiah…….a Savior for all people.

MATTHEW 1: 23   “SEE THE VIRGIN WILL BECOME PREGNANT AND GIVE BIRTH TO A SON AND THEY WILL NAME HIM IMMANUEL, WHICH IS TRANSLATED “GOD WITH US.”

GOD is with us, with HIS people every minute of every day, every hour and week and year.  Come to the Manger and see………see what GOD has done!

GOD NEVER EVER LEAVES US………WE LEAVE HIM.

We all have been guilty of looking for other gods, other mangers elsewhere in the world.  We look for answers in all the wrong places.  We push GOD aside and demand our own thrones when HIS throne room is right there for us to humbly come on bended knee.  Oh forgive us LORD when we do not know what we are doing.

PSALM 119: 18   “OPEN MY EYES, THAT I MAY SEE WONDEROUS THINGS FROM YOUR LAW.”

May our eyes be opened this season and our hearts and hands raised.  Look at what GOD has done.  Open our eyes to the Manger in Bethlehem, to the wonder of HIS love for us.  Worship the ONE who came to be and communicate with HIS people in an intimate way.

GOD WITH US…….IMMANUEL, THEN AND EVEN NOW.

MERRY CHRISTMAS DEAR ONES!  MAY YOU BE BLESSED BY THE BABY IN THE MANGER.  MAY HIS LOVE BRING YOU PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING OF HIS BIRTH.

MATTHEW 2:  11   “ENTERING THE HOUSE, THEY SAW THE CHILD WITH MARY HIS MOTHER, AND FALLING TO THEIR KNEES, THEY WORSHIPED HIM.”

  1. Reading through the Christmas story, I am amazed at how God revealed Himself to so many – they KNEW He was the Messiah! The shepherds bowed and worshiped. Herod asked where the Christ (Messiah) was to be born after the magi asked the whereabouts of the King of the Jews. The magi bowed and worshiped. Simeon and Anna. What must it have been like to be Jesus’ parents?!?! Did they also bow and worship Him throughout His childhood?

Bless you, Maxine, for sharing the wonder and magnificence of Christmas with us. GOD WITH US!!!
