People today are probably more concerned with what they wear than what their soul wears.  We all go through that thought process of “gee, what do I wear today?”  Or what should I wear to Church, or the party, graduation or work event.  

MATTHEW 6: 30   “BUT IF GOD SO CLOTHES THE GRASS OF THE FIELD, WHICH TODAY IS ALIVE AND TOMORROW IS THROWN INTO THE OVEN, WILL HE NOT MUCH MORE CLOTHE YOU, O YOU OF LITTLE FAITH.”

It’s a comforting thought that GOD cares more about our inner beauty than the outer.  HE graciously cares for all things, including HIS children.  HE continues to clothe us in HIS salvation and HIS righteousness.  HE cares continuously and with providence.

2 CORINTHIANS 4: 16   “THEREFORE WE DO NOT LOSE HEART.  THROUGH OUTWARDLY WE ARE WASTING AWAY, YET INWARDLY WE ARE BEING RENEWED DAY BY DAY.”

Yes, mankind is concerned with the outward appearances rather than the inner soul.  All we have to do is look at social media to see the fake little worlds we all create for others to see.  It’s all rather prideful if you really think about it.

While man is concerned with the outward appearances, GOD is caring and looks to our hearts.  HE cares for our souls and dresses us in fine linen to one day wear when we join HIM in Heaven.  GOD has created this world that is lavish in HIS beauty……..just look at the fields.  But more important HE continues to clothe us in HIS lavish grace……..just look at GOD’S heart.

GOD dresses us each day within.  With every moment, HE guides our hearts to be more like HIM, to be beautiful, loving, patient and joyful……..just like JESUS.  And when the battles are hard, HE clothes us in the armor that we need to resist the enemy.   God desires for our inner being to be just like JESUS.  And isn’t that what we truly want……. to be more like the ONE who saved us?

I have always loved the Proverbs 31 Woman.   In Proverbs it says that she “dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.” vs. 17

PROVERBS 31 : 25    “STRENGTH AND DIGNITY ARE HER CLOTHING…….”

We know that outwardly we are slowly aging and wasting away.   This tent we live in will eventually be completely torn down.

PROVERBS 31:  30   “CHARM IS DECEITFUL, AND BEAUTY IS VAIN, BUT A WOMAN WHO FEARS THE LORD IS TO BE PRAISED.”

The LORD clothes us with strength, dignity, integrity and a character that fears HIM.  GOD’S wardrobe for our souls is eternal and it will never wear out.  What a blessing that HE cares for us this much. 

So next time you look into your closet with the thought of “what shall I wear?”  remember your inner wardrobe of your soul and that it will be perfectly matched and put together for when you meet your SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!

JOB 27:  16   “THOUGH HE HEAP UP SILVER LIKE DUST AND PILE UP CLOTHING LIKE CLAY, HE MAY PILE IT UP, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS WILL WEAR IT.”
