Anyone else appreciate having extra margins in a notebook, book or Bible? I know I do! Extra margins allow for extra room. I love how our GOD gives us those extra margins to either fail or have success because in so doing, GOD is giving us the room to grow and mature and ultimately learn to give HIM all the glory and trust that HE wants us to have.
I think GOD’S grace abounds in the margins of our lives. We certainly don’t know all that goes on there, in that spiritual realm, but we do know that HE is working all things together for our good. We have to trust HIM in those margins, knowing HE knows us better than we do. Over and over again GOD has proved to me that HIS path and HIS ways are best!
PSALM 139: 7 “WHERE CAN I GO TO ESCAPE YOUR SPIRIT? WHERE CAN I FLEE FROM YOUR PRESENCE?”
HIS signs and wonders are performed in those margins, in those places we cannot see or even understand. But GOD is always working……..so take comfort in that!
Because of HIS grace, margins exist and because of HIS grace there you and I have freedom. We are forgiven and free. Let us learn to walk in this freedom and quit worrying about tomorrow. Today has enough trouble of it’s own. Trust GOD in the margins of tomorrow. Cause HE isn’t going anywhere. Because if HE did leave us, that would nullify the CROSS. JESUS hung on a wooden tree to pay the penalty for our sins……..once and for all. HIS power in the resurrection gives us power in this life, even when we cannot see two feet in front of us……….JESUS is there because HE is the faithful SAVIOR.
JOSHUA 1: 3 “I HAVE GIVEN YOU EVERY PLACE WHERE THE SOLE OF YOUR FOOT TREADS………”
And isn’t this comforting to know? To know HE has given you each step, even in those margins, even in the unknown, even in the valley of the shadow of death. We don’t know what our next minute or hour will bring, but what we do know and should embrace fully, is that GOD is with us, everywhere and in all things and circumstances. HE never leaves, is always working because of HIS love for us. Reflect on this today and may your Sunday be blessed, even in those margins.
PSALM 23: 6 “SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE; AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.”

Maxine, I love this concept of margins, of buffer zones, if you will. I’m thinking that God’s goodness and mercy of Ps 23 abide in those margins, ready to catch and comfort us.

Yes I looked to Psalm 23 and read and reread it to try to understand this concept. Made sense to me! I like your words of a buffer zone!
