LONGING FOR JESUS

LONGING FOR JESUS

The longer we live in this broken world, the more we desire with our hearts a different country.  We know this world is broken by sin, it’s disease ridden and trials and death abound.  This world is not our home.   We long for a better place and we long for JESUS, our SAVIOR.

This world is designed this way by GOD so that our longing would increase the longer we live here and our hope and readiness for JESUS to return increases as well if we do not see HIM in death first.

OUR LONGING FOR JESUS INCREASES AS OUR FAITH INCREASES.

But this longing was placed within our hearts by GOD.  There is a permanent hole in our souls longing to be filled.  It is what we fill it with that is ultimately by design of a loving CREATOR.

JESUS and HIS death on the CROSS and HIS resurrection should produce in us an ever-increasing longing……..for HIM.

PSALM 6: 3  “MY SOUL ALSO IS GREATLY TROUBLED.  BUT YOU, O LORD – HOW LONG?”

We question and we long and we wonder.  We will never graduate from the need of HIS grace for us.  The worst thing in the world that occurred in history was also the best!  That terrible moment one Friday was also the best moment in history.  For today being EASTER we know there is hope before us, there is a better place and JESUS died for us so that we too, could go to this better place, a perfect place because JESUS is there too.

Grace is a gift, but grace was the CROSS too.  And now today we even celebrate the empty tomb! Oh how we long for HIS grace and oh how we long for our Savior, JESUS CHRIST!

May you be blessed today with family and friends around you and may you long for all that CHRIST has in store for you, now and for all of eternity.

HAPPY EASTER!  HE HAS RISEN!

MATTHEW 28: 5 -6    “BUT THE ANGEL SAID TO THE WOMAN, “DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR I KNOW THAT YOU SEEK JESUS WHO WAS CRUCIFIED.  HE IS NOT HERE, FOR HE HAS RISEN, AS HE SAID.  COME, SEE THE PLACE WHERE HE LAY.”

  1. He is risen, indeed! Hallelujah!

I am with you in that looooonging. We earnestly desire to be perfectly in His presence, and to have done with the trauma, suffering, and tribulation of this world.

2 Cor 5.1,2 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven

I praise God that we can so earnestly desire Him, and we can dwell in His presence here on Earth, because Jesus has overcome the world. And we have His precious presence within us and in His Word.

May the comfort and joy of the Lord be strong within you today, dear Maxine.
