So here we are with a New Year and New beginnings. I don’t know about you, but these days right after Christmas and New Years can bring me down. As much as I know and trust GOD for new beginnings, it’s the uncertain that gets me.
And then there is the dailyness of it all! For us it is back to Dr. appointments and my world feels beige again. Everything red and green is pretty much put away and things look so……..bare and sad.
I look around and think: so now what LORD? What would you have me do in the New Year?
2 SAMUEL 22: 29 “LORD, YOU ARE MY LAMP; THE LORD ILLUMINATES MY DARKNESS.”
How often in our lives do we seek those mountaintops without realizing that the valleys are where we grow the most! Oh, how do we live in those valleys? One thing that happens is that we cry out to GOD……..a GOD of compassion and grace.
PSALM 69: 29 “I AM SUFFERING AND IN PAIN. RESCUE ME, O GOD, BY YOUR SAVING POWER.”
And the ESV version says it like this:
PSALM 69: 29 “BUT I AM AFFLICTED AND IN PAIN; LET YOUR SALVATION, O GOD, SET ME ON HIGH!”
The only way out of the valley is to follow JESUS out! HE is our guide, protector and strength when we are weak. If you are currently in that valley, do not lose heart! Because in a valley the only way to look…….is up!
Do not be discouraged and do not be afraid, rather seek GOD and HIS courage for you will guide you.
PROVERBS 4: 13 “TAKE HOLD OF MY INSTRUCTIONS; DON’T LET THEM GO. GUARD THEM, FOR THEY ARE THE KEY TO LIFE.”
If life is hard for you……..take hold of JESUS. Grasp onto HIM with all you have and believe that HE is the rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM.
FOLLOW JESUS OUT OF THE VALLEY TO THE WAY OF LIFE!
HIS way is the only way………HIS way will help us overcome!
PROVERBS 4: 23 “GUARD YOUR HEART ABOVE ALL ELSE, FOR IT DETERMINES THE COURSE OF YOUR LIFE.”
Guard your heart and place it securely in JESUS’S hands, the only ONE who knows and understands your valley, because HE walked many HIMSELF! HE is the very life we seek, HE is our answer to all and HE is our salvation for all who follow HIM.
PROVERBS 4: 20-22 “……..INCLINE YOUR EAR TO MY SAYINGS. DO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF THEM; KEEP THEM WITHIN YOUR HEART. FOR THEY ARE LIFE TO THOSE WHO FIND THEM, AND HEALTH TO THE WHOLE BODY.”
JESUS will meet you in the valley today and HE will carry you out!
