Genuine……..the word means:  authentic, real, sure-enough, true, undoubted, and unquestionable.

I don’t know about you, but I am drawn to people who are genuine, especially in their character and personality.  They walk the talk every single day and what you see and come to know is always what you get.  It’s hard to be around someone who isn’t genuine…….you walk on eggshells when with them. 

I grew up with my father who was very even-tempered.  I always knew that I could approach him and feel safe in my heart as to the response I would receive from him.  He was a GODLY man and lived out his faith daily.  And he loved me no matter what I did.  I was so very blessed in my life because of him.   He showed the same love to everyone he met and always showed the same love to me.

OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS A GENUINE GOD.

Our Sovereign GOD is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow!  HE is genuine and just.  But let’s examine ourselves to see if we approach HIM in a genuine manner, or do we not let HIM into parts of our lives where HE should be?

Are we in tune with the way GOD made us?  Do we allow all the walls to tumble down before HIM?  We must not forget the rotten sinners we are who are in need of a Savior and the HOLY GOD, the genuine GOD, who loved us enough to send HIS son to die on the Cross in our place.

REMEMBER AND REPENT……..BE HONEST AND GENUINE BEFORE THE LORD.

If I am genuine before the LORD……..how much deeper is my relationship with HIM!

1 PETER 1: 7  “THESE HAVE COME SO THAT THE PROVEN GENUINENESS OF YOUR FAITH – OF GREATER WORTH THAN GOLD, WHICH PERISHES EVEN THOUGH REFINED BY FIRE – MAY RESULT IN PRAISE, GLORY AND HONOR WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS REVEALED.”

And if our true passion is to become more like CHRIST, won’t that over time lead us to be more genuine in all things, including our faith?

JAMES 1: 17  “EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE, COMING DOWN FROM THE FATHER OF THE HEAVENLY LIGHTS, WHO DOES NOT CHANGE LIKE SHIFTING SHADOWS.”

Having genuine faith leads us to a humble submission to CHRIST who does not change, fully embracing HIS teachings and following through with fruitful works. 

Genuine faith……..more precious than gold.  It is more desired than the stuff of this world.  Oh yes!  I do want that with my whole heart and mind…….don’t you??
