There was a foreshadowing……..in all of Old Testament scripture there was a preparing, an anticipation of a glorious king. And first there was King David and later came King JESUS.
GLORY TO THE NEWBORN KING!
There are small towns everywhere right now all aglow……..waiting.
MICAH 1: 3 “FOR BEHOLD, THE LORD IS COMING OUT OF HIS PLACE, AND WILL COME DOWN AND TREAD UPON THE HIGH PLACES OF THE EARTH.”
The LORD, the Bethlehem KING can be found anywhere, because HE was born to save you and to save me. HE is a KING of justice, mercy and grace. HE is a perfect KING, the Alpha and Omega, the KING of the Jews and the KING of KINGS. HE is the beginning and the end, HE is a royal KING, majestic and eternal.
MICAH 4: 7 “……..AND THE LORD WILL REIGN OVER THEM IN MOUNT ZION FROM THIS TIME FORTH AND FOREVERMORE.”
And there is a remnant waiting for their KING……..
MICAH 7:18 “WHO IS A GOD LIKE YOU, PARDONING INEQUITY AND PASSING OVER TRANSGRESSIONS FOR THE REMNANT OF HIS INHERITANCE.”
JESUS, the LORD, is our KING and HE reigns…….forever. Oh the enemy tries to dash our hopes in HIM with distractions and lies. But the LORD’S truth always triumphs! HE is the KING of the universe.
MICAH 4:8 “……….TO YOU SHALL IT COME, THE FORMER DOMINION SHALL COME, KINGSHIP FOR THE DAUGHTER OF JERUSALEM.”
HE is the Bethlehem KING, born in a small village, born in a manger, hungry and holy and on that night the angels sang a chorus and the light in the darkness was brighter than it had ever been due to a star that led the shepherds.
AND THE SHEPHERDS CAME, THE MAGI CAME TO SEE THIS NEWBORN KING……. A KING FOR ALL OF ETERNITY, ONE WHO FORGIVES SINS, THE SINS OF MANKIND ASKING NOTHING IN RETURN EXCEPT THAT WE BELIEVE.

ZECHARIAH 9: 9 “REJOICE GREATLY, O DAUGHTER OF ZION! SHOUT ALOUD, O DAUGHTER OF JERUSALEM! BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU.”
The shepherds said to one another: “let us see this thing that has happened.” And they went and they found their humble KING, a KING for all ages, for all of eternity. And like the shepherds and angels too, we say AMEN!
With all your heart and mind this Christmas, expect JESUS to come, because HE always does. Worship at the feet of JESUS the KING for all the ages. GLORY TODAY TO THE NEWBORN KING!
“Come, thou long-expected Jesus, born to see thy people free; from our fears and sins release us, let us find our rest in thee.”
Charles Wesley, 1744
MATTHEW 2: 16 “GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE AMONG THOSE WHOM HE IS PLEASED.”

Just as a lamb is born is lowly circumstances, so is our King. Born to die, just like the sheep the shepherds were watching that night. I was reading about the location of that flock, and the author said it was the place where the temple sheep were cared for – the sheep that were born to die.
