When night comes…….what do you see?  I see light all around and this Christmas, lights are everywhere.  We hang them on our tree and houses.  We light candles that are all aglow.  In the darkness the light comes.

IN THE DARK OF NIGHT BABY JESUS CAME.

And with light all around us we search for it…….we take drives to go view homes all decorated and we are in awe of what we see.  But why?  GOD made us so we would be drawn to this marvelous light.

THE LIGHT OF CHRISTMAS IS JESUS.

HE is the light and HE is the perfect gift this time of year. We receive all sorts of gifts, but nothing compares to the gift that our Savior is.  HE is the light of our lives and the light for our path.  HE shines, HE glows and HE is extraordinary!

PSALM 4: 6  “LIFT UP THE LIGHT OF YOUR FACE UPON US, O LORD!”

Even the psalmist craved the light of JESUS and we should too.  When GOD chose to make our world HE said: “Let there be light”.  GOD knew we would need it in so many ways.  HIS light is immeasurable and shines upon every living thing.

So light a candle today…….not for yourself, but for JESUS.  Sit quiet and reflect upon HIS goodness for you.  Remember HIS gift of salvation and mercy.  JESUS came as light into our dark world because we needed this light, because we cannot live in eternity without it.  But even now we can live in this gift of light……..

JOHN 8: 12 “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. WHOEVER FOLLOWS ME WILL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.”

Whoever follows HIM……..sees the light and truth in the midst of the darkness.  JESUS fulfilled Old Testament prophecy of the coming of the light of salvation and the light of GOD.  Because GOD said: Let there be light!  And because HE loved us so very much, there was glorious light.

Embrace HIS extraordinary light during this season of light. But don’t take it for granted.  JESUS came to be the light of the world.  HE was the perfect gift we all needed, the light and love of our very lives!

ISAIAH 2: 5  “O HOUSE OF JACOB, COME, LET US WALK IN THE LIGHT OF THE LORD.”
