REFLECTIONS OF TRUTH

I don’t know about you, but it truly saddens me where we are right now in our country.  So many people turning on one another without a thought as to the ugly words they are saying.  You have to wonder: do they look in the mirror?  As Christians we need to examine our hearts daily and look intently on the FATHER’S words, knowing they are HIS heart.  Let’s see if our own hearts are a reflection of HIM.

In 2 Timothy 2: 7 Paul says this:

“REFLECT ON WHAT I AM SAYING, FOR THE LORD WILL GIVE YOU INSIGHT INTO ALL THIS.”

In our present times, no, I don’t understand all that is going on!  My heart is broken for all the death, race, and political views that are raging against one another.  The enemy seeks to divide us and he is doing a great job of it right now.  So where do we go for some understanding and peace in the midst of present day chaos?  We read and reflect on all the LORD says to us in HIS word!

People everywhere are searching for and thinking their truth is the “only truth”.  But the real truth is that the world’s truth is severely twisted right now……have you noticed?

GOD’S TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

Our freedoms are being stripped away too.  Anything that can be taken from us, will be.  Pushing GOD out of all we know has left us in this state of evil.  But like my fellow Christians, I have to still live in this world.  So what is one to do?

First let’s reflect where we are in our journey with the LORD.  Are we sticking close?  Are we abiding daily?  Let’s look in the mirror and take an account of our hearts and minds.  Do they align up with CHRIST or the world?  Who am I a reflection of?

Second let’s think about the amount of time we give to GOD.  Is HE an afterthought?  Is HE on our minds so much so, that we have a continuous conversation with HIM?  Do our prayers reflect HIS will instead of ours?

Third let’s look at who we are surrounding ourselves with.  Do we have a good Christian mentor that we can go to and ask those hard questions?  What about those tough theological questions……who helps us to see and understand GOD’S word?

Forth who do we allow to speak truth into our lives.  The world doesn’t know truth or what it means, because it is flawed and broken.  Even long ago, back when JESUS came before Pilate, he asked HIM this:

JOHN 18: 38  “WHAT IS TRUTH? RETORTED PILATE.”

We all search for the truth.  Doesn’t it make sense that GOD is the one who put that ultimate desire within us, knowing that if we searched with all our heart, soul and mind that we would find HIM, the ONLY TRUTH? Truth was evident in GOD’S Son, a reflection of HIM.  I think that is why JESUS confounded so many……HE was that mirror reflection of TRUTH and no matter how many argued with HIM, HE just reflected truth and light all the more!

Last, let’s make sure we are in community.  Find a solid Bible teaching church.  Beware of the “woke” that has infiltrated some Churches.  If they don’t want to “offend” anyone, that is your first sign it’s probably teaching false truth.  Why?  Because the GOSPEL IS OFFENSIVE!  HIS word, which is truth will sharpen like a knife, it is eternal and you cannot change it or soften it or remake it.  It stands true as it is……period.

JAMES 1: 22-24  “BUT BE DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT HEARERS ONLY, DECEIVING YOURSELVES.  BECAUSE IF ANYONE IS A HEARER OF THE WORD AND NOT A DOER HE IS LIKE SOMEONE LOOKING AT HIS OWN FACE IN A MIRROR.  FOR HE LOOKS AT HIMSELF, GOES AWAY AND IMMEDIATELY FORGETS WHAT KIND OF PERSON HE WAS.”

Stay in the GOD’S absolute truth friends……ignore the world’s truth because it will never set you free.  Do and think what the real TRUTH tells you.  Let’s help one another persevere in these very difficult times.  Speak truth to one another whenever possible.  And let’s rest in HIS amazing truth, grab hold of it with all our might until the LORD takes us home.

I would love for you to add to my list of things we can do daily to remain in HIS truth.  Let me hear from you dear reader!

JOHN 14: 6  “JESUS TOLD HIM, “I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.”

    1. Well said Kathy and forgive me if I don’t get right back with you. I just had cataract/corrective eye surgery. One eye is done and next one coming on the 29th. It’s hard to see computer right now so doing best I can. And yes, may we NEVER take our eyes off of our Savior. HE is only truth and a solid truth at that! I am so thankful I have HIM to stand solid on every single day! Blessings dear one!

  1. The devil, has twisted the truth. But God’s love, still reigns. Though the heart grieves, God’s people, are not deceived. His heart is faithful, and His love forever… holding our heart, revealing His undying truth!
