LET’S FUEL ONE ANOTHER!

I think we all can agree that putting fuel in our gas tanks make our cars go.  But what about fuel for our souls?  What makes us continue to move forward towards the upward call of JESUS CHRIST?  How do we do this when our world is so broken and sad around us?

THE HOLY SPIRIT FILLS US WITH A FILLING THAT THE WORLD CANNOT GIVE US.

I am thankful every day that when CHRIST left this earth that HE did not leave us alone.  It is to our benefit that CHRIST went away so that the HELPER would come……

JOHN 16: 7  “NEVERTHELESS, I TELL YOU THE TRUTH; IT IS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE THAT I GO AWAY, FOR IF I DO NOT GO AWAY, THE HELPER WILL NOT COME TO YOU.  BUT IF I GO, I WILL SEND HIM TO YOU.”

CHRIST knew we needed the fuel of the SPIRIT to persevere in this life and to mature and grow in our faith every single day.

So is your fuel tank almost on empty?  And if it is, that should tell you something.  There is a reason for it and more often than not we need to examine where we are in our faith walk and are we refueling daily or only when we run on empty.  Let it be our mission to not run dry!

I find that when I lose my temper and look everywhere else besides my LORD for a solution to a problem, then I am running on empty.  But I also find in contrast to that, when I feel like I can take on the world and can love my neighbor wholeheartedly and abandon my wants and needs, then I am running with a full tank of the Spirit!  When I know I am loved by JESUS and have spent quality time with HIM, my tank runs full, even to overflowing.

HIS FILLING IS CONTINUOUS BECAUSE THE WELL IS DEEP.

Quality time in the Spirit is not rushed or done with a divided mind.  It is spent in prayer and asking for the filling of the Spirit!

COME HOLY SPIRIT, FILL THE HEARTS OF THE FAITHFUL.

We don’t have to worry that the filling of our souls will run out one day……there is an endless supply in the LORD.  It is a supply that is new each morning and it is good and secure.

Gas tanks in cars go empty, so you fill them.  Why would you not do this with your own soul tank?  We are foolish if we allow ourselves to run dry…….let’s be more intentional about this.  It takes extra time dedicated to the LORD, but it always is time well spent.  Things of eternity are never a waste.

ISAIAH 11: 2  “AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD SHALL REST UPON HIM, THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING, THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL AND MIGHT, THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE AND THE FEAR OF THE LORD.”

Is your desire today, for this filling?  May we want to be filled by all that our great GOD is!  More and more of HIM and less of ourselves.  Because each of us is unique, we will all experience the Spirit’s unique way of filling us.  Our experiences will not always be the same.  It may be from HIS word, or a worship song, from a prayer by a close friend and even from our gathering together at Church with our Church families.

The Body of Christ comes together to fuel one another too……never give up meeting with one another, because we were never meant to isolate ourselves (the enemy wants this), but to encourage, edify, strengthen, and sharpen one another.  Let your Christian brothers and sisters put that fuel in your tank today.  It’s why GOD gave us one another.

THE REALITY IS EITHER GOD FILLS YOU UP WITH HIS HOLY SPIRIT……..OR THE WORLD WILL. Stay grounded in HIM because today and every day forward, HIS filling you matters more than anything!

PHILIPPIANS 1: 6  “AND I AM CERTAIN THAT GOD, WHO BEGAN THE GOOD WORK WITHIN YOU, WILL CONTINUE HIS WORK UNTIL IT IS FINALLY FINISHED ON THE DAY WHEN CHRIST JESUS RETURNS.”

  1. I am reminded of a C. S. Lewis quote I read recently: “God made us: invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on petrol, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way without bothering about religion. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there.”

I love that you offered different ways and ideas that God can fill us, because He is infinite and creative. I love that He speaks these through you!
