FOUND AND GROUNDED

GOD in HIS own way has pursued each of us……..HE found us and opened our eyes and hearts and changed us.  HE changed us to be HIS…….HIS beloved, a Royal Priesthood and Ambassadors for HIM on this earth.

WE ARE FOUND BY GOD!

YES, HE has pursued us, not the other way around, because our sinful nature goes against HIS nature and therefore, HE sent HIS ONE and only SON to die in our place on the Cross.  We deserved to be there, hanging on that cross, but CHRIST died for us there anyway…….HE loves us that much!  And when we confess all our sins………we are forgiven.

Since we are first found by HIM, then when we believe with all heart, soul and mind, isn’t it just like our great GOD to show us and prove to us that the only place we can be grounded is in HIM and HIS truth!

START TODAY TO BE GROUNDED IN THE WORD.

Don’t seek any wisdom from this world…….honestly you will meet a dead end.  That dead end might not happen today or tomorrow, but it will come.  And when you go looking for real truth and find GOD’S truth, you will find an inexhaustible text in the pages of that GOOD BOOK.

COLOSSIANS 1:23  “BUT YOU MUST CONTINUE TO BELIEVE THIS TRUTH AND STAND FIRMLY IN IT.  DON’T DRIFT AWAY FROM THE ASSURANCE YOU RECEIVED WHEN YOU HEARD THE GOOD NEWS.”

I worry much about my drifting away…….and when I do, and I pick up HIS word, it pulls me back and grounds me.  I feel my feet on solid ground again……stable again and steadfast.  But my drifting only happens when I take my eyes off JESUS, when I begin to look horizontal rather than vertical.

PSALM 141: 4  “DON’T LET ME DRIFT TOWARD EVIL OR TAKE PART IN ACTS OF WICKEDNESS.”

Our world pulls us, makes us drift away from GOD.  All the distractions from the enemy are designed to do just that.  And I am as guilty as anyone.  So what does one do?

BE INTENTIONAL EACH DAY AND STRIVE TO REMAIN IN HIM.

Let HIS word possess you…….let it sink into your soul, let it wash over you and think and ponder it.  Write it everywhere to remind you: on mirrors, blackboards, inside books, on your phone, on your hand, but write it again and again……..to remind you not to drift away from HIM.  Some may think the Bible is outdated, but it is not.  It is as current today as the day it was written.  And every subject known to man is found within the text.

JOHN 15: 4  “REMAIN IN ME, AND I WILL REMAIN IN YOU.”

The LORD reached down from heaven and found us…….AND IN THE SAME WAY HE GROUNDS US WITH HIS ETERNAL WORDS.

His words find us and change us and transform us into HIS people, HIS beloved, HIS Church. Because we are HIS, GOD knows our nature and that we are weak and vulnerable.  So why wouldn’t HE leave us a good book to guide us!

HIS WORD FILLS US WITH WHAT OUR HEARTS LACK……

EZEKIEL 36:26  “AND I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART, AND A NEW SPIRIT I WILL PUT WITHIN YOU.  AND I WILL REMOVE THE HEART OF STONE FROM YOUR FLESH AND GIVE YOU A HEART OF FLESH.”

How can any change happen within us, unless we are grounded in the WORD?  Take HIS words and write them on the tablet of your heart, pray them over and over and notice HIS peace upon you.  Let HIS words be your foundation for your life.  Choose this year of 2021 to be grounded.  GOD has already found you and HE is saying this:

COME NOW AND SPEND TIME WITH ME.

DEAR READER:  What are you doing different this year to draw near to GOD and to remain grounded in HIS word?  I would love to hear!

JEREMIAH 29: 14  “I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU,” SAYS THE LORD.”

  1. I think God gave us similar messages today: We must be faithful in the little things. Even if it’s five minutes at a time in God’s Word, we must come back to Him again and again, and be grounded in Him. Faithful in little things leads to faithful in big things. And God can do BIG THINGS!
