So think for a moment……..what in this entire big world that spins in the universe causes you to pause…..in awe and wonder?

Each December I attempt to take a fresh look at the Christmas Story written in the Gospels to see if GOD shows me a new perspective.  I desire to keep looking at HIS word with awe and wonder.  How about you?  Christmas is coming, so what has ravished you in awe and wonder about CHRIST’S birth?  It’s important this Christmas that we remember this……..

WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM.

Let’s together seek to find JESUS today…….God’s love was with Mary while she was with child. Early on she went to visit Elizabeth and oh how Elizabeth was filled with awe as she realized this…….

LUKE 1: 43  “HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, THAT THE MOTHER OF MY LORD SHOULD COME TO ME?”

Elizabeth’s baby leapt in joy when Mary’s greeting had reached her ears.  Can you imagine?  Mary came with child and Elizabeth’s baby knew…….knew the ONE who came!

Let’s be awestruck here!  Even Mary and Elizabeth in their visit with one another were blessed by HIS presence and JESUS wasn’t even born yet!  Both women had amazing faith and Mary wrote a song that begins with this:

LUKE 46-47  “MY SOUL MAGNIFIES THE LORD, AND MY SPIRIT HAS REJOICED IN GOD MY SAVIOR.”

Let us magnify the LORD this Christmas……..HE is a Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace!

Let us take the time…….to rejoice in wonder, just as the Wise Men did long ago for the Savior of the world……

MATTHEW 2: 11  “AND WHEN THEY HAD COME INTO THE HOUSE, THEY SAW THE YOUNG CHILD WITH MARY HIS MOTHER, AND FELL DOWN AND WORSHIPED HIM.”  NKJV

The CSB Bible version says they were: falling to their knees.  Falling…….it must have meant they were awestruck by following that brilliant star that led them right to where the Child was.  What the angels had said to them was true!

THIS YEAR MORE THAN ANY OTHER WE NEED JESUS and TRUTH!

Nothing on earth compares to the GOD-man who came down to earth……for us.  Yes, for you and for me.  HE came because of GOD’S amazing plan that began long ago.  Through the ages, GOD’S fingers directed all people to this one point in history…….a point of pure grace and love for mankind.  A way to save us because…….

LUKE 2: 11 “TODAY IN THE CITY OF DAVID A SAVIOR WAS BORN FOR YOU, WHO IS THE MESSIAH, THE LORD.”

JESUS AND HIS BIRTH…….were positively miraculous!  And we should be awestruck by this glorious history. 

O COME LET US ADORE HIM!

Let us ask the Spirit…….to show us where and how we can be ravished in awe of HIM!  Let’s not become bored or stale in our yearly look at the Savior’s Birth.  Let us remember HIM……in our hearts we should treasure HIM there because HE is the true and only gift of the Season.  HE is the reason we celebrate.  It’s never about all the gifts and parties and shopping.  It’s about the HOLY CHILD who came to us on that dark, cold night long ago that ultimately was bathed in grace and mercy and light.  HE is the Savior for all the ages.

Let’s look……let’s search…….let’s settle in the WORD and this incredible story……let’s remember, but most of all let us be ravished and awestruck by JESUS and HIS birth!

MATTHEW 1: 22-23  “ALL THIS TOOK PLACE TO FULFILL WHAT THE LORD HAD SAID THROUGH THE PROPHET:

“THE VIRGIN WILL BE WITH CHILD AND WILL GIVE BIRTH TO A SON, AND THEY WILL CALL HIM IMMANUEL WHICH MEANS, “GOD WITH US.”
