Ever known someone who was just full of confidence? I’m not talking about the arrogant kind, just the kind a person has that shows they are comfortable in their own skin.
This morning’s devotion resulted in my looking up many scriptures related to confidence and the one that settled deep within me was this one…….
HEBREWS 10: 35-36 “THEREFORE, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE, WHICH HAS A GREAT REWARD. FOR YOU HAVE NEED OF ENDURANCE SO THAT WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THE WILL OF GOD, YOU MAY RECEIVE WHAT WAS PROMISED.” NASB
I wrote the following equation in my Bible to remember why confidence in the LORD is so important:
CONFIDENCE + ENDURANCE + PERSEVERANCE = THE KINGDOM
We are not to shrink back from our faith! If our hearts are right with GOD, then we can boldly come before HIM in all things, keeping the treasured goal in mind: THE KINGDOM.
EPHESIANS 3: 11-12 “THIS WAS HIS ETERNAL PLAN, WHICH HE CARRIED OUT THROUGH CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. BECAUSE OF CHRIST AND OUR FAITH IN HIM, WE CAN NOW COME BOLDLY AND CONFIDENTLY INTO GOD’S PRESENCE.” NLT
Our confidence for the LORD and trust in the LORD should be growing as we mature in our faith. Our confidence in HIM will be evident in what we say about HIM and how we live out our trust.
This confidence is something I like to call gutsy faith. It amounts to wearing your faith on your sleeve, being outspoken for the LORD and full of joy in the realization that you are saved by HIS grace. Life in general doesn’t get a person like this down……all the challenges they face just grows them into more confidence for JESUS!
A gutsy and confident faith is bound to encourage others, because people notice people who are different. And isn’t that how JESUS was too? People knew HE was different, HE spoke different, HE acted different and HE didn’t try to fit in at all……neither should we.
Our confidence grows from what we read about the LORD’S character and HIS Sovereign Holiness and being. This results in our confident worship and praise of HIM too. Our arms are lifted high because we are certain HE knows us and is delighted in our praise.
PSALM 147: 11 “THE LORD TAKES DELIGHT IN HIS FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS, AND IN THOSE WHO WAIT FOR HIS LOYAL LOVE.” NET

Our confident faith knows where we are going and that we will inherit HIS kingdom!
ROMANS 14: 17 “FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT A MATTER OF EATING AND DRINKING BUT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE AND JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.”
We can daily put on the armor of GOD, because of our kingdom faith that is confident that GOD will help us fight our battles and in the end we will be victorious!
Let us confidently share our faith and wear our faith in a way that is contagious to those around us. And be prepared to share why you believe as you do and why you know you will receive the great reward of the Kingdom!
MATTHEW 24: 14 “AND THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE KINGDOM WILL BE PREACHED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD, SO THAT ALL NATIONS WILL HEAR IT……”
In a nutshell: “We are not to shrink back from our faith!” This could have been a good alternate title for this blog. Excellent reminders, Maxine!

I love your equation and your “gutsy faith!”
Our confidence in God alone is what increases our faith; then we are able to withstand the tribulations, and put our full trust in God, Who carries us through. And what a testimony to those who are watching!
I appreciated reading your bold proclamation of God’s Truth, Maxine!

Great encouragement, Maxine! Our hope truly is our confidence in the One and Only True and Living God. I just read a blog about Paul’s confidence; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I love this, it makes me think “okay then,” “whom shall I fear?” Blessings to you and your family ♥♥

Appreciate your thoughtful comment Jacquie! I like your input of when we are bold, then who or whom shall we fear. During these times, there are many in fear. may we be that bold and confident voice in the midst of those who are fearful and hurting. Be bold for the TRUTH!!
