In the world…….there is always the appearing of not enough, having enough, making enough money or having enough stuff.  And because of that, people are hoarders of all sorts of things.  I guess people worry there won’t be “enough” of something someday.

Why is that?

In a world where we have so much and endless options with everything at our fingertips, we tend to still want more!

And even then…….more is not enough!

The world tries to satisfy us with the getting and buying only for us to be content for a moment and we still try to get more.  Here in AZ I see huge storage buildings holding people’s stuff that they cannot fit into their homes.  And I have to wonder why do we need so much more?

All the buying and the getting is about everyone trying to fill a hole…….an empty hole that only GOD can truly fill.

We can look at parts of the world where the need is great and people see it every day on TV, but look the other way because they would rather get for themselves.

Is this need, this darkness and even starvation there, so we will turn and wonder?  Shouldn’t we turn from the stuff that weighs us down towards the light that lifts us up?  

ISAIAH 58: 10-11 “IF YOU POUR YOURSELF OUT FOR THE HUNGRY AND SATISFY THE DESIRE OF THE AFFLICTED, THEN SHALL YOUR LIGHT RISE IN THE DARKNESS AND YOUR GLOOM BE AS THE NOONDAY.  AND THE LORD WILL GUIDE YOU CONTINUALLY AND SATISFY YOUR DESIRE IN SCORCHED PLACES AND MAKE YOUR BONES STRONG.”

Do you see the words……..satisfy your desire?  Maybe our desires of wanting more, are flesh driven, rather than GOSPEL driven.  Only the LORD can satisfy those “wantings” and no one and no amount of stuff can do that.

In a world where there isn’t enough…….GOD is!

If we die to self and give ourselves away in CHRIST, then HE becomes enough and more!  HE empowers us to do more, give more, love more and even say more than we are capable of; to reach a world that doesn’t have enough!

Let’s remember that the deceiver of the world tells us to keep for ourselves……but CHRIST shows us and tells us to serve one another.  And in that serving, in that considering others better than yourself, you my friend, will be enough to someone.

You can be enough for those around you…….because HE is enough for you.

When JESUS asked the disciples how many loaves there were, HE showed them a powerful lesson.  Through JESUS and in HIM, there is plenty and more and even some left over!  

MARK 6: 41-42 “AND HE DIVIDED THE TWO FISH AMONG THEM ALL.  AND THEY ALL ATE AND WERE SATISFIED.”

And there is that word again…….satisfied!

Because we are empty vessels to be filled with GOD’S never ending love and grace, then we can be enough for those around us……

PHILIPPIANS 4:13 “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME.”

If I can do all things through HIM, then CHRIST is enough for me to do all things.

We share in GOD’S infinite glory and HIS love for others and have enough to give, because of our Savior.  The CROSS is the magnification of GOD’S love for us…….it reaches wide and deep.  So JESUS accomplished the work of salvation for us……..HE was enough for our sins.

Because JESUS is the GREAT GIVER of all good gifts……..HIS love, HIS mercy, HIS grace, these alone are enough to sustain and renew us.  We trust in HIS promises for us and we trust there is enough and even more for us……….so that we can do more and be enough for others…….we are CHRIST’S ambassadors always because HE is enough!

Are you showing someone today that our Sovereign GOD is enough?  If HE is enough for you, if HE is your heartbeat and your all and all, then HE is enough for all those around you.  Share the GOSPEL with someone in need…….and show them how the WORD and all the glory in it and all our good GOD has to offer us……..is truly enough!

PSALM 34: 10 “THE YOUNG LIONS SUFFER WANT AND HUNGER; BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD LACK NO GOOD THING.”
