In the morning when I rise, one of the first things I reach for are my glasses…….putting them on brings everything into focus.  Coffee comes next and then reading of scripture. 

Let us tune all of our senses to the LORD, but first and foremost, let us turn our eyes. When the eyes are opened, we see differently and what was that scripture?

Matthew 7:5 “First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Every morning we will benefit if we put on our “scripture glasses” that help us see the light.  No matter how difficult the day before was, HIS mercies are new each morning.  But in order to understand that fact, we must put on scripture glasses to see the light the new day brings.

IN OUR FAITH, WE GAZE UPON OUR REDEEMER AND SEE WITH NEW EYES THE ONE WHO SEES US.

It always begins with the eyes doesn’t it?  Think on that for a moment, we are a visual society right now, using our phones for pictures and selfies.  There is always something new to see.  So, do I want my eyes to fill with darkness or do I desire to see the truth and goodness that only GOD can give me?  Oh LORD, let me choose YOU, YOU, YOU!

We have a choice as to what we will allow into focus…….the world will draw you away from the light and culture pulls you away from what is the truth.  Very often satan’s lies make sense to us and he continually schemes to draw us away from what is good and authentic. and true and righteous.

GOD’S word and HIS word alone is the right lens for us, because each day our lens will eventually get out of focus.  Oh how we need the corrective lenses of the word!

If you are in a difficult season and the weight of the world is heavy right now, put on those scripture glasses to help you understand.

PSALM 34:18 “THE LORD IS NEAR TO THE BROKENHEARTED, AND SAVES THE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT.”

A pure scripture lens helps you see through the pain where GOD’S grace meets you and brings you near to HIM.  Our focus becomes clear simply by training our eyes to see HIS word and to rest in it.  Yes, you must rest there.  And it is there that we find our safe refuge from all that comes our way.  

PSALM 16:1 “PRESERVE ME, O GOD, FOR IN YOU I TAKE REFUGE.”

The FATHER’S words supply a remedy for whatever ails us, but we need to see first.  Sometimes I think the blessing in all pain is that we reach.  We reach for the remedy, we reach for relief, we reach for a SAVIOR and we reach for an answer.  

Put on those scripture glasses today…….don’t wait until tomorrow.  By not reading HIS word, your eyes are out of focus.

1 TIMOTHY 3: 16 ” ALL SCRIPTURE IS BREATHED OUT BY GOD AND PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, AND FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

How can we understand suffering and pain unless we wear those scripture glasses?  How can we not look at ourselves and desire change without HIS clear directives for us?  We all have a pair of scripture glasses and they were given to us when we accepted JESUS into our hearts.  The Holy Spirit has purified them for us, so we can see clearly. 

I don’t know about you, but I want to see what GOD sees, because so very often my eyes are looking in the wrong place!

I encourage you to put on those lenses right now………and see HIS grace for you.

Gaze upon the beauty of the LORD before you, because it is there, right in HIS word. You might not think so and you will never know HIS heart for you, unless you read HIS word every day.  

The HOLY SPIRIT will help us to understand, to see better and more clearly each step we take because:

HE GIVES US JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF LIGHT FOR THE STEP WE ARE ON!

The LORD revealed HIS word to us for a reason, it is timeless and has been preserved for thousands of years just so we can read and understand it in our present day!  Because of this, know that HIS word is a treasure like none other.  It isn’t something you can buy, it is something that you put within your heart, because your eyes have seen…….

MATTHEW 13:16 “BUT BLESSED ARE YOUR EYES, FOR THEY SEE, AND YOUR EARS, FOR THEY HEAR.”

If your Bible has been gathering dust, I encourage you to pick it up and dust it off and see it for the treasure it is!  Put on your scripture glasses today and read HIS wisdom that reaches as far as the east is from the west…….look and see first, and then know that you are loved by the GOD of the universe………all because HE wants you to clearly see.

LUKE 11: 34 “YOUR EYE IS THE LAMP OF YOUR BODY.  WHEN YOUR EYE IS HEALTHY, YOUR WHOLE BODY IS FULL OF LIGHT, BUT WHEN IT IS BAD, YOUR BODY IS FULL OF DARKNESS.”
