Paul David Tripp says in his devotional book: New Morning Mercies, that grace isn’t lazy and that we were created to work. Our Creator knows what is truly best for us, but how often do we choose comfort over best? It is our human nature to want comfort. I know I choose it and often it is the easier way out or in things. How often do we stand at a juncture and choose the easy way, our way because we think we know best instead of consulting GOD first.

Have you ever made your mind up on something and then here comes along GOD’S perfect word for you in that moment and your mind is just struck by HIS wisdom for you? An example for me is how just over a year ago our Church opened up another location here in Mesa, AZ. Our new site would be a 25 mile drive from my home. The location I was attending was much closer. Anyway, so many people, including me had their mind made up that they certainly would not travel that far. But GOD! HE said something to me first through a friend when she said: are you sure about that? And then HE confirmed it with HIS word to me:

ISAIAH 6: 8 “THEN I HEARD THE VOICE OF THE LORD SAYING: WHOM SHALL I SEND? AND WHO WILL GO FOR US?”

I wrestled with this for a good week, giving all my excuses as to why I couldn’t travel that far. But by the end of the week, I chose to move to the new location and I have no words as to what an amazing experience and blessing listening to GOD in this situation has been for me. Many of my dear friends who I thought wouldn’t make the move did. And now we have a group and team of amazing people. I am blessed every service by our Senior Pastor who made the move too. I see where GOD had HIS best waiting for me, I just needed to listen.

I’ll admit, I can be lazy and choose the easy way out. When I place my needs before GOD then I’ve put myself on that throne that only GOD deserves.

EXODUS 15: 11 “WHO AMONG THE GODS IS LIKE YOU, LORD? WHO IS LIKE YOU – MAJESTIC IN HOLINESS, AWESOME IN GLORY, WORKING WONDERS.”

He works wonders in our lives, we need only to let HIM. GOD always has our best interest at heart and guides us and teaches us if we would only listen. HE has all the power and might to give us the best for us. Why then would we choose anything less?

Today, if you are faced with a decision, go to HIM first. Pray and talk to your GOD who loves you will all HIS heart and wants only the best for you. Then choose HIS way, the best way over the comfort of anything this world will ever offer you. May HE bless you with HIS BEST!
