SUNDAY REFLECTIONS – HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

WHAT MOM’S NEED TO REMEMBER

Happy Mother’s Day to every single Mom out there. For some, this will be a happy day and for others, a very hard day. Whatever type of day it will be for you, we need to remember this: We all in one way or another loved someone who did eventually grow up and leave us. For some, your children are still under your roof…….cherish them.

1 JOHN 4:7 “BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER, FOR LOVE IS FROM GOD, AND WHOEVER LOVES HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD.”

We love, because HE first loved us. As Moms we love unconditionally all from our hearts from the time that little one was placed in our arms! Being a Mom never leaves you. Once a Mom, always a Mom.

Remember Mary? The mother of JESUS who found favor with GOD…….she said to the angel who visited her with this good news that she was the “LORD’S servant.” She didn’t know that one day she would watch her Son die a criminal’s death on a CROSS and she could do nothing to change what happened…….nothing. And so, she had to let go and let her heart be broken, because GOD had a plan. And Mary watched, the soldiers watched and the crowd watched. Imagine with me what Mary saw and how it broke her heart!

And just like Mary, your heart today might be broken too, even shattered for one reason or another. Your child might be a prodigal, or has passed away. They may be deeply rooted in the cut off culture or they may be going down a destructive path. For whatever your personal reason is, you just know that your heart breaks with every breath you take. This is a silent pain of a Mom who has loved well and loved deeply.

So how do you move forward from this Mother’s Day and the next and maybe all the holidays that are left this year? Surrender your heart to GOD and ask HIM to heal it for you. When you are at the end of yourself, pray and ask HIM! Because broken can be beautiful and GOD saw and sees every tear and every heartbreak you sustained. HE saw when no one else did. HE saw Mary and HE sees you too. I am confident that HE doesn’t want you to carry all your hurt alone.

1 PETER 5: 7 “CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETIES ON HIM, BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”

Take one day at a time, one breath at a time. Care for yourself when things hurt. I believe we eventually find purpose in the pain. I’m sure Mary did and we can too. Many blessings to all the wonderful Moms out there. My heart and HIS heart is with you today.

  1. Amen 🙏🤗 Beautiful Post Maxine.. Happy Mother’s Day my Dear Sister….

I love how you tie in Mary’s story, because it brings such depth and meaning without overcomplicating the message. At its heart, it is so simple and so needed: bring your hurt to God, take it one day at a time, and trust that even the broken seasons are still fully seen and held by Him.

You Are Dearly Loved as a Woman, as a Daughter of Our King Jesus and as a Sister of many of us who truly Cherish your Care, Kindness and Love…

  2. I believe all mothers go through tremendous pain at one time or another. God made us for that, to change us and mold us closer to His heart.

Blessings to you on this Mother’s Day, dear Maxine.
