This past Easter I had to watch my Church online due to my recovery from surgery.  I so loved seeing our choir on stage.  I was able to watch people I know and serve with singing their little hearts out.  Choir and singing is not my gift, but that doesn’t stop me from singing at the top of my lungs in the car with Christian radio on!

FOLLOW HARD AFTER GOD AND LET YOUR HEART SING!

PSALM 108: 1  “MY HEART OH GOD IS STEADFAST; I WILL SING AND MAKE MUSIC WITH ALL MY SOUL.”

Our passion and our holy awe for GOD is from a heart that sings for GOD.  Letting our hearts sing to the LORD is a gracious spiritual gift and one we should embrace daily. 

DON’T LET GOD HEAR YOUR SINGING ONLY WHEN YOU ATTEND CHURCH

What about the rest of the week? What then?  Lifting our voices also lifts our souls.  Singing is mentioned so much in scripture, we need to pay attention to all of it……..

PSALM 104:  33  “I WILL SING TO THE LORD ALL MY LIFE; I WILL SING PRAISE TO MY GOD AS LONG AS I LIVE.”

What type of music do you listen to?  I encourage you to do a 30 day challenge to listen only to Christian music and then see where you are.  I have done this many years ago and since then I cannot listen to any secular music.  It does nothing for my heart and soul.

PSALM 108:  1  “MY HEART IS STEADFAST, O GOD!  I WILL SING AND MAKE MELODY WITH ALL MY BEING!”

With the world and wars going on right now, I think we all need and could benefit from a little more singing.  Sing in your car, your home and even the shower!  It has been studied that even humming can reduce stress, improve heart health and promotes relaxation.  Singing boosts our moods because it releases endorphins and enhances lung function.  I think GOD knew what HE was doing when HE developed within us the gift of song and praise!

PSALM 98:4  “MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE TO THE LORD, ALL THE EARTH; BREAK FORTH INTO JOYOUS SONG AND SING PRAISES!”

Today……..let your heart and your voice be connected to Heaven.  GOD gives us the gift of song for our benefit.  HE wants to hear our hearts……sing!  And so we should – sing every day – sing loud, sing often and make a joyful noise to the GOD who saved you and gave you your sweet voice.

PSALM 68:  4   “SING TO GOD, SING IN PRAISE OF HIS NAME, EXTOL HIM WHO RIDES ON THE CLOUDS; REJOICE BEFORE HIM – HIS NAME IS THE LORD.”
