John Wesley once said this: “GOD breathes into us every good desire and brings every good desire to good effect.”
When GOD changes our hearts from stone to flesh, our desires change. We desire what HE desires. I can see this within myself because what I once desired, now I dislike and could care less about. And what I once hated, now I love dearly. How did this happen? It is such a change from one way to another. So much of the world I find does nothing for me and instead my desire are for all things about GOD, to be transformed into HIS likeness and to love the way HE loves. My desire is to be more like JESUS!
PSALM 145: 19 “HE FULFILLS THE DESIRES OF THOSE WHO FEAR HIM; HE HEARS THEIR CRY AND SAVES THEM.”
If your whole desire today is to be more like JESUS then……..HALLELUJAH!!
PSALM 146: 1 “HALLELUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD, O MY SOUL.”
We all have rebelled and we all have run away from JESUS. But it’s because of HIS amazing unstoppable grace that HE takes hold in our hearts and changes us all for the better on the inside and our desires become good…….like HIM.
EVERY GOOD DESIRE COMES TO A GOOD EFFECT.
Never think that you have arrived as a Christian……..we will never be fully whole until the LORD takes us home. But the best news of all is that HE never gives up on us………we are HIS and we are HIS masterpieces, a masterpiece for good and never evil.
What is the true desire of your sweet heart today? It may be to go out into the world and do something big for JESUS, or it may be to do something small and unseen for HIM that only JESUS will see. In our desires HE humbles us in ways we don’t always understand or even know, but the desire to not be proud in all of our accomplishments, but only in HIS work within us is a sweet blessing and a grace that develops over time.
Let’s examine our hearts daily……what do we desire on a daily basis? Is it to be more like our Savior JESUS? Know today that it is HIS desire for you to be just like HIM. We are loved in ways that we will never know. That is our GOD, that is our JESUS! May we come to desire HIM with whole heart, soul and mind more than anything on this earth.
MATTHEW 9: 13 “GO AND LEARN WHAT THIS MEANS: I DESIRE MERCY AND NOT SACRIFICE. FOR I CAME NOT TO CALL THE RIGHTEOUS, BUT SINNERS.”
Ref Mt 9.13 – and He called this sinner – Hallelujah!
I’m so grateful that God changes our hearts. Even when, like Jonah, I go kicking and screaming, He lovingly brings me to the place He has foreordained for me, and gives my heart longing for His blessings.
